I think I broke my new baby...temporarily

So, I picked up my new ride on Saturday...a Specialized Ruby Elite, so pretty. Anyway, I couldn't ride on Sunday the weather was awful. Monday didn't pan out so I'm ready to roll on my first ride yesterday. It was very windy so I wasn't out for more than an hour.

Enough background here's the stupid move of the day: I'm exploring the bike, running through the gears when I shifted from the smaller ring to the big one in the front. I did something bad 'cause now she won't shift back. I went through all the gears in the big ring hoping I just wasn't in the right "place" to shift but none of them worked.

I'm going to run to the bike shop today on my lunch and fess up - hopefully they wait to laugh at me until I'm out the door :o

I had to stop at my LBS yesterday because my Dolce sounded like it was shifting when I hadn't actually shifted. One small adjustment and two minutes later I was out the door with no issues. Just one of the many perks of buying a new bike!

I am still getting used to my gears and shifting between them. I'm scared to death that I will not be paying attention at one point and pull a shifting no-no.

Hope the fix is easy and your back to riding fast.

Just a couple of cranks by your mechanic and she'll be good as new I"ll bet. :)

Oh, that's not broken! No worries, it's minor.

Broken is the fork is across the street, and the pedals are over your head!

It was silly. They didn't even have to do anything. They just shifted it back for me. I guess my shifters can handle a triple but my bike is only a double. What I did basically is shift beyond the capability of the bike. Make sense? Anyway, I'm sure they all had a good laugh after I left!
