Snapdragen and I have been tossing ideas back and forth and we came up with another version. This graphic design stuff is hard work! Now, I need to print a test on the tattoo paper and then take for a ride. Perhaps, Mr. Sunshine, you could show up so I can go for a ride?

Looks good - you are going to post a picture of all of you wearing your new tattoos, right?

Depends on where she makes us wear them :D

I like it!
What ride length is everyone doing? I signed up for the 50 as I will be volunteering in the afternoon for the Devil Mountain Double and I want to make sure I'm done in time to get to my assigned spot. :p

SadieKate, I loved the name Amici Veloci from when you first mentioned it.
My friends and I are tossing names back and forth and when we come up with one that we all agree on we want to get jerseys with the name. So I am just wondering if you knew of a good company that did this.

Check out Voler, they do custom jerseys. Not sure of the price though.
SadieKate
03-22-2005, 08:25 AM
Yes, try Voler. Also, Verge, Louis Garneau, VOMAx, Pyroapparel. I'm looking in the back of Velonews and see that you can also get custom cowbells! :p
I saw on someone's website that they give discounts to MS teams but I can't remember who that was. If I do, I'll post it.
V, our intent is to do the 75. Don't the routes converge most of the time?
Veronica
03-22-2005, 08:28 AM
Based on the route profile I would guess that they are together until about mile 35.

We tossed around a lot of names also. I think it was Jo who suggested "Miracle Whip." :D

Just got direct mail from Terry yesterday I think they do if you call. I've never asked TE if they give a charity ride discount.

Does Terry do custom jerseys??

I see new careers for SadieKate and Snapdragen -- forming a design team to do custom tatoos and jerseys. Really, it has potential. :)
Re the 50 vs 75 mile routes -- in prior years they followed the same course until Moraga, which is probably about mile 35. The drawback to doing the 50 is that you'll join all the 25 milers (by the hundreds) on the way back; it's usually thinned out some by the time you're returning on the 75 mile route. (And all those negative newbie things I vented about on another thread? This is the ride I was thinking about.)
Veronica
03-22-2005, 12:18 PM
I'll just have to fly by them all then. :D I think I can do the 50 in 3 - 4 hours. 75 will be about 5 - 6. I figure I need to be done by noon to get to my spot on Hamilton.

Yup, Terry gives charity ride discounts - it used to be you had to call your order in to get it, their website couldn't do it.

I was kind of hoping to do the 75 miles, but it is more likely to be 50. We'll see how my hill training goes in the next month.......

Love the logo!! will make a great jersey!
We got our barking spider jerseys done here:
http://www.jos.ca/
the guy who owns the shop is Ron Hayman - do a Google search on him - he was none other than the 2004 Canadian Olympic cycling team coach, amongst many other accomplishments in his long career.
And he makes great custom sublimated jerseys without huge minimum orders!! and sign me up for one! :D
oh yeah, and he's in Canada, eh, so like yer 'merican dollar goes just a little further...
Check it out and have a blast ladies!!

In addition to the Great Mass Getaway in June, I am also walking in the
9 mile in April...may I borrow your logo to show east coast support?? I've made a million t-shirts out of logo's like these for my kids over the years ...just gotta heat that ole iron right.

going to have some made for the Getaway ride for me, hubby, and son

I need to hone up on my Greek mythology. Is it Sisyphus (sp?) who had to eternally roll the stone up the mountain? That target keeps moving.
Veronica
04-01-2005, 05:54 AM
Yep, it is.
Much better to be Sisyphis, at least he gets to enjoy the walk back down the mountain to start pushing his rock again. Prometheus was chained to a mountain and had his liver eaten by an eagle every day and every night it would grow back. Eww.

Karen, our group would be honored if you'd take the logo, as snap said, to national fame. I think you're the perfect person to lead the way. I'll send you the jpg file. I have to warn you that the larger you make it, the fuzzier the crank rings get. We weren't doing jerseys but maybe next year. So, one of these days I was going to try to sharpen the edges of the crank ring (I'm not going to count the number of teeth involved). Be sure to post pics of your family and friends! Plus, can you tell us your method for t-shirt transfers?
If anyone else wants to use it, let me know and I'll send the file. We would like it to be used for charity purposes/rides/walks only as the logo represents the spirit, camaderie, friendship and all that gushy stuff that brought us all together in the first place. Ok, here I go getting teary-eyed again. :)

Sadie:
Hubby buys transfer paper at Staples, (I believe it is made just to do iron ons), he then cleans up the picture and transfers it to the paper via a printer he has at work. We made thirtysomething t-shirts for Great Grade Four when
my kids were in the class.
I really wish I was out there with you all this weekend. Maybe next year us east coasters and mid-westers could get our act together and come out for a TE/M.S. 150...that would be great. When the boys and I do the M.S.
150 here in soaking wet Massachusetts I'll send you some pictures.

Sadie - were you asking about tshirt transfers in another post?
SadieKate
04-04-2005, 03:52 PM
Oh, that's right. Wonder if she's taking our logo international?
On the page before in this thread you'll see MassBikeBabe explaing how they do it. Have you done it? I never have. I was thinking I might do a couple T-shirts for my family.
It would be fun to have jerseys some day. Maybe if we do an MS ride next year . . . . in the meantime, it'll have to be t-shirts.

Hello Amici Veloci! It's me again and I need your help again. I know this sounds Reallllly strange - but I donated to 4 of you and I want to get the rest of you but darn if I can remember who I got last round and who I missed. Could you please PM me and tell me Yes I did or No I didn't so I can pick up the ones I missed last round?
Thanks for your help and sorry for the spaciness!

I used both inkjet and laserjet paper - the inkjet has no where near the saturation color so it is being using as the test. Drum roll please, presenting Bubba's leg!
The flash glints off the medical grade film more than light does in real life. This is also the small version.

I have 2 wonderful friends/puppysitters who also happen to be professional graphic designers. Bless their big hearts, they took the chainring image and cleaned it all up. Now it can be enlarged. MassBikeBike, you made your T-shirts yet? Try these files. I can email if you can't down load.
I even did a set with purple text and you can go outline or no outline.

I just discovered that I lost the fonts when I opened it at home. How about you?
When I get to work tomorrow I'll put into a jpg file which should freeze the font. Sorry about that.
Let me know if you want the fonts in a different color for a black shirt.

I downloaded the red with black outline fonts, everything is there. But now I can't open the briefcase! I'll try again tomorrow. If you can put them into a jpeg file that would be cool.

I can't open it either. SBC has been having issues that last few nights. I'll turn into a JPG file tomorrow. I can email but each file is about 1.6MB so I won't do that unless you ask.

If I can get it squoze in this weekend, I stop by my rinky-dink small town OfficeMax and see what they have.
