recommendations for knee pads

I'm aspiring to ride more technical stuff (over a log or two) this summer and I would like your recommendations for knee pads. I don't *think* I'll need the shin guard type pads. I'd like something that I could wear under my urban capri pants. Thanks!

I have the knee/shin thingie from Skinz Basic series. It is a fairly comfortable lycra sleeve with heavy padding (but no rigid plastic). I can wear it on a XC ride without feeling miserable.*
