How hard it would be to find 12 pound dumbbells! (We were talking about weight training in another thread.) None at either Gart's. None at Galyan's, er, ****'s. No, really, that's the name of the store now. None at Sears.
Finally found a gym-specific store that did have a pair. Also looked around a bit at benches and such. When I used to hit the weightroom in college, I had two favorites. I now know that the first one is actually called a Roman chair; the second one, I'm not sure, I think it's called a leg press sled? Something like that. The good news is that, if I really really want it, I can afford a Roman chair. The bad news is that I really can't ever see justifying the cost of the sled. Then again, the sled is probably exactly what I *don't* need for cycling, slowly pushing heavy weights. But it's fun!
I could see myself using a Roman chair for back and ab work while watching TV or something ... maybe I'll have to put it on my wishlist for my birthday or something.
