Last check, I think we had makbike, indysteel, and the Silvers in...I'm the slow one is this group:o:o:o
A beautiful tour, close to Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, and of course, Kentucky.
Horsey Website (http://www.bgcycling.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=42&Itemid=71)
Saturday offers several routes:
- 35 miles
- 55 miles
- 75 miles Hilly
- 75 miles flatter
- and a new 100 miles tour
Sunday offers:
- 37, 52, and 70 mile optional routes.
Well planned and executed...and central Kentucky is just beautful. Plus lunch at Keeneland features one of the most beautiful sports venues in the world!
Let us know if you're in.

I'm in! It will be my first time for this particular event. Currently, I'm planning on the 100 miler on Saturday and the 52 on Sunday (unless I want to go to Paris :D). I have a friend coming also. We have reservations at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. I'm not particularly fast either but a nice paceline helps!

Sadly, I won't be there this year. I am participating in a club competition on Sunday and will be resting my legs. Have fun and I hope you guys have a great day on your bikes. I'll be thinking of you!

My husband and I were planning it all spring, but at $4/gallon we couldn't drive 1,000 miles for a weekend of fun. And we love road trips but we have a big one coming up in September that we are pinching pennies for.

Still planning on it! My friend Ed, whom I met at BRAT last year, is driving all the way from South Carolina for it, too. Oh, to be retired.....
We're both staying at the Comfort Suites but we purchased the meal plan so we'll be dining at the cafeteria. We're planning on doing the century on Saturday and either the 70 or 52 on Sunday.

hey I will be there!! My bf are going as well as alot of folks from our bike club.
Are you all meeting somewhere just to say hi?:p
oh and we are staying at the university. I hear good and bad things... but I am sure this year the dorms are air conditioned... hoping so. ... but that's okay, we are headed to Canada for 18 days in July, and will be camping through our bike tour... I need to get used to "roughing it", LOL!

Chicago, if this crazy weather continues here in Kentucky AC won't be an issue. In fact, you may be asking them to turn the heat on in the dorms. Today's high is forecasted to be 65F - so weird!

Yep, as we get closer, let's see if we can coordinate a place for a meetup and a quick picture. Last year, I think we pm'd cell phone #'s.

I think Silver and I are shooting for the Century on Saturday and Paris on Sunday. Remember, it's not a race. Last year, we averaged faster than we expected without a pace line...I think our average was in the 15 to 16 range.
We're going to check in Friday. We're at the Hampton. All the hotels are mostly in the same proximity, and for those who want to, the ride to the college is on decent roads (only about a mile).
Marcie, sorry you're tied up...I remember you saying that now.
Last year we met makbike at the bottom of the step just north of the door to the check in area. It looks like this:

OK, for those who are interested in starting together, feel free to meet us at 8:00AM to 8:15 at the at the bottom of the steps just north of the door to the check in area. For those doing the century, you'll definately want an early start to avoid SAG closure. The meeting spot looks like this:

Silver and I will be wearing green Hilly Hundred jerseys. We PM'd our cell phones to ya'll if you're interested in an evening meal together. We may drive down to Lexington...but we're flexible.
:DThe weather looks like it's going to be outstanding!:D:cool:
indy: we still have your cell phone #
makbike: we'll be thinking of you and hope that your club event goes well!
susan: we've got your cell # saved as well.
Anyone else in? Good day to drive up from Tennessee or down from Ohio!

Hi guys... I'll pm you my cell number today. Not sure if I can meet in the morning to ride. The bf and I are going with alot of peeps from our bike group, so we will mostly start out with them. I'm hoping to have a little quiet time alone just riding with my bf and me... or maybe just me:eek::D I like to ride tours in small groups, I hate the chatter chatter chatter that some riders bring, LOL!! Okay, I'm bad.
... and yep the weather is supposed to be outstanding!!, I can't wait. We are leaving early tomorrow... to get there, hang out, have some beers and the enjoy the weekend!!
Silver?, are you planning on staying through Sunday? I believe we are going to try to do the 72 miles on Sunday as well. I'll send you my phone number... who knows, maybe we can all meet for dinner or something.
See you all there!! I'm teasing the boyfriend that I'm going to be coming back with a horse and trailer, LOL!! I want a horse so bad :(

Sorry I missed a couple of Mr. Silver's questions.
I do have room in my suite if someone doesn't mind sleeping on a pull out couch. The dorm rooms are what you would expect for the money. I thought about staying in them again and just bringing my Aerobed.
I'm planning on meeting up with you in the morning. I was hoping for an early start so that works out very well. I'm not sure what I'll be wearing--depends on how warm it is--but you can look for my light green Bianchi. Now that I know what the Silvers look like, it'll be easier this year!
Everybody have a safe trip down.
