Hi everyone, I'm new here and rather new to biking. I've been dating a bike rider for two years now and have finally decided to join him (i'm normally a horse rider). My other half picked up a second hand bike from a friend (no suspension at all, I'l say circa 1980s or so) and fixed it up for me to ride. Last week I did so well out that he told me I could get a new bike :D. So today we drove to Germany to go bike shopping and I got my new bike --- http://www.radon-bikes.de/xist4c/web/Radon-ZR-Team-Only-7-0-Midseason_id_23454_.htm I love it!
We got home around 7:00 (we left home today at 7:30), changed, put my pedals on it, tweaked a few things and off we went! We took the trail that we have been doing for a few days with a section of steepish climb that ends in steps. I total messed up on my gearing (forgot that I have three on the front as my old bike had a few gearing issues) and fliped over backwards...got my feet out before the flip but not my feet on the ground :( BF comes running down the hill "don't scare me like that!" He later informed me that it wasn't me that he was scared for but my new bike! Oh well today was a day of firsts, first ride on the new bike and first fall with my SPD's

Sounds like your first ride on the new bike was exciting! Hope YOU'RE okay (glad the bike is, too). I've never hear of Radon bikes, but I'm a roadie. Looks very cool!

Do you know the Schleck brothers? I always suspect Luxembourg is so small that everyone knows each other :D ;). I'm from the smallest US state, and I know EVERYONE . Maybe it just seems that way ;). Anyway, I think they're amazing. Their team effort in a recent race I just watched was really cool (although it didn't quite work).

Actually, my BF's dad knows the father and my BF knows the oldest brother (he gave up riding). I have met one of the other Luxembourgish bikers, Ben (don't remember his last name). It's relay cool to live in a small country, m BF in a local so it seems like he knows everyone here :)

Radon bikes are rather big over here, they are mail order German made bikes, like canyon. This way you can get great components and frame for a bit less as they only have one store so they have less outgoing :)
