Speedplay Frogs and Shoes

Ok, ladies, so I got mine in the mail yesterday but I was reading the compatible shoes information that comes with the pedals and it looks like my Cannondale MTB shoes (men's) won't work with them as they have a wide toe box. I'm really loathed to get new shoes but I am duck-footed and feel like the Frogs may be the thing for me. So any of you out there with Frogs, did you have to make adjustments to your shoes? What shoes do you have? Do you have shoes that are on their incompatible list (http://www.speedplay.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=shoeguide.searchstart)? I've got my first metric century coming up this Saturday so won't be trying them out on the bike until after we get back next week but wanted to see if there were some of you out there that were able to get them to work with your shoes. You might want to try to install the cleats anyway.

My cycling sandals are on the incompatible list, but I tried them anyway and they work just fine. I think it might be because the list is based on men's shoes, but women's shoes generally are narrower. But I don't really know--all I know is that my shoe/pedal combination works even though they're not supposed to be compatible.

BTW, I didn't have to make any modifications to the sandals.

My shoes' wide toeboxes are supposed to be incompatible with Frogs, too. No problem. :D

Try them and see.
