I got up at 5 AM and did my first ride of the season. It was amazing. 15 miles through the woods and along the beach. I didn't see a soul, but I did see 5 or 6 deer and an eagle. And a large ship coming into the channel, that was cool.
It was 40 degrees, 5 mph winds, clear skies.

rain, rain, rain - that's all we have in the midwest. Oh, did I say rain?

here too
Morning Ride here.
I was able to do 17.7 miles on the rural roads with some hills. I just love the peacefulness of it all. Not a lot of traffic, cool morning and nothing but road.

Dampness here, too. Socks are still wet. Bike is under desk. Fenders are nice :) It's stopped raining for now so the ride home should be drier.
Not sure whether a 1000 mile May is possible or not. Planning an 80 mile day on the 18... but averaging 33 miles a day means a lot of things have to go right. Days like today... we'll see waht it feels like outside. My personal rule is that if I weren't going to ride if I didn't have a silly goal, then I shouldn't ride. And since I'm just a little cold-y and its' drizzly... AND I get to MOVE BACK TO MY HOUSE ... ;) ... I"l prolly just do an extra lap around campus and let the numbers do what they will.

Day #2 for me with the new handlebars, bar-end shifters, and saddle. (Have I mentioned lately how much I love my bike now? :p )
Bright, sunny, and HOT down here (somewhere around 92 degrees, I think). Gorgeous day to be outside on a bike.
Only did about 10 miles, but for me that's kind of a lot. :o

Go Spurs GO!
Just rode my 3 or so miles to the grocery store and back today, but have ridden my Big Dummy every day. Tuesday there was a women's ride at the LBS and I took the Dummy. There were only four of us and it was an easy 10 miles even seeking out a few hills.
I've been riding "loaded" doing my errands, grocery shopping and even took the Dummy to my rug hooking class, along with my rug, frame and goodies. Been wanting to do that a long time!
Today I went out in the afternoon -- the temperature was 89. When I rode home it seemed warmer and it was indeed 94 when I got home. So I am acclimating to summer in South Texas.
