Last night I turned on the tv for the first time in about 2 weeks. I only get one channel since I rarely watch it. The show was Dexter. Has anyone seen it? I'm not sure what to think about it, but I certainly kept thinking about it today. I'd never even heard of it. Oh, I've watched all of the Halloweens and Nightmares on Elm Street back in the day, but something about this show is disturbing and different. Like we are suppose to like this guy? I'm not sure how I feel about this show, but I know it shouldn't have been aired at 8:00 on a Sunday night on a network channel.

Thoughts? Like this show? Don't like it?

I like it. I like that it makes us wonder what we're supposed to do with all that information. I like that we can realize that the way the show is done is manipulative, because it doesn't hide the fact. It's intelligent, twisted, thought provoking and still smooth enough for network TV. All that said, it's pretty graphic to be on at 8pm. I think here it airs at 10. I only know a few other people who have watched it.....but then I only knew a few people who watched Arrested Development, too.

I love Dexter. It's easily one of my favorite television shows. I was given the first season on DVD as a present a little while back, and couldn't stop watching them.

Dexter is one of DH's favorite shows.
It's dark and conflicted, and definitely thought-provoking.
It was (still is?) on Showtime (I think...some "premium" cable movie channel). We still can't believe they transitioned that show to primetime network television. We haven't seen it since it made that move. I suspect they really toned it down for the network viewers. That's probably why DH hasn't watched it....afraid they ruined it.

There are 2-3 cable shows on network right now since the writers' strike got them so behind. I don't think it's permanent.

I really like. I was intrigued after the first show. I guess its on Showtime or was? Last time I was at Barns & Noble I saw the books. So what season is this? The only thing that I have trouble with is the police LT - Tudy from the Facts of Life - for those of you that are old enough to remember the show.;)

We got Dexter on DVD and I love this show.

I hear they've cleaned up the language considerably for the move to network, and it cracks me up to think of the big tough foul mouthed characters speaking in a 'golly gee whiz' way.

I don't watch to much T.V., but when I do, I do enjoy watching Dexter and C.S.I. (all of them) and Criminal Minds.
