I just got back from my first ride on my new Bike Friday Pocket Llama. Here she is:
http://www.cyrilandanastasia.com/Bike_Small.JPG

I'm enamored :)

Things I learned on todays ride.
1. I need to practice using the brake on the right side without turning the grip shifter.
2. Having a seat all of a sudden flip backwards and poke me in the crotch is no fun at all. (At least I didn't fall...)
3. Bike skorts are awesome. Way cooler than riding in my street clothes! :)
4. My old bike was a clunker.

Seatpost aside, I'm really happy with this bike. It handles much more gracefully than my old bike. I don't mind the small wheels at all. And it was zippy quick to fold it and put it in the car.

I'll ask my DH to take pics of me and the bike soon, and share those as well. I would try asking the cat, but I have a feeling he'd just look at me funny ;)

Looking forward to biking, and participating in this way cool forum yall've got going here,
Anastasia :D

Wonderful! Bike Fridays are a little funny looking compared to full-sized bikes, but they are so fun to ride and versatile.

Congratulations on your new bike.

Oh, that's just darling! (I have a Bike Friday Pocket Crusoe so am slightly biased. :D) How did you get a chainring to match? I've never seen that -- neato!

Enjoy the ride!!! :)

is that a Brooks saddle I see on it?

Yep, a Finesse. I got it several years ago. At the time I had a $300 bike, and it made me feel good to put a $100 saddle on it. (And provided much relief for my sit bones!) Now that saddle is broken in, but not anywhere near worn out, so of course I put it on my new bike :)

They're bikes worth being biased for! :)

I ordered the power raspberry color, and they did the rest. Dunno specifically how the chainring got to be the same color, but I'm not complaining. It is really cool :)

I think the chainring is the same color when you only have one ring in the front. Looks like that's the dual drive, right?

On the seat mast - make sure you tighten the quick release. It shouldn't more until you release it, when you're ready to fold.

Pretty bike:) I was between that color and the purple, and I got the purple...

Neat-looking bike. The color of the Brooks saddle really complements the bike color. I'm not a big fan of pink, but that raspberry--yum! Enjoy!

Is this bike comfortable to ride? It looks really small in the picture, would love to see pics of you on it for comparison.

Love the color!

Lovin' it! I even like the color, although it does remind me of a bridesmaid dress that I came very close to having to wear. Looked terrible on me:o, but it's oh so sexy on your Bike Friday.

Bike Fridays are very comfortable to ride, and since the geometry is the same as a larger-wheeled bike, and the saddle is the same height, you honestly don't realize that you're on a small-wheeled bike. They ride very much like their big-wheeled sisters, I promise! :) I'm not the OP, but here's a pic of me not-quite-riding my Pocket Crusoe on a loaded tour a few years ago. Hopefully enough to get the idea...

I do have dual drive. Good eye :)
The seat mast is fine. The problem I was having with the seat is that it wouldn't stay at the angle I set it at. The seat post had a "hook" shaped piece of metal and a single screw to hold the seat on and in place. Except the screw was in a "neutral" position when the seat was tilted nose-up, and it kept wanting to return to that position. I replaced the seatpost with a Thompson one, that is much more stable. I just couldn't have my bike trying to throw me off like that!

I was debating between raspberry and candy apple red. You see which one I chose :)

Thanks for the pic! I'm totally in awe of anyone who rides a bike with all that gear attached!

I will post pics of me and the bike soon. Just gotta get my DH to take em. It does feel like a regular bike. It actually handles much better than my last bike. I would guess that's because this bike was actually fitted to me, where as the last one wasn't. And because this bike is about 5lb lighter than my old one.
