Several things I will always remember for this present employer/worksite which is at a construction site (we have multiple related sites within a 5 kms. radius). One of them is the wildlife and unexpected domesticated creatures hanging out around our area.

Animal sheninigans over last 2 years:
* today a baby duckling was stranded by an open sewer. Saved by a manager just walking near parkling..he found mama and siblings cowering nearby. Baby duckling was greeted happily by its family.

*llama that pooped at one of our locations outdoors. Someone wanted that cleaned up. Llama was accidentally on the loose.

*confused lamb skittering on road through another area that we were working on. They had to catch it before it got run over by cars.

*salamanders that are caught. Actually it is mandatory that we catch and release them elsewhere...part of environmental protection law. Same for red-legged frogs.

*trout, some baby salmon caught and released elsewhere. Same reason as salamander.

*wild rabbits occasionally hop about...confused and disturbed by the construction

*water shrew must be caught and released elsewhere too

I think the bears from the mountains nearby are smart enough to avoid the cranes, backhoe machines, caterpillars..
