I was thinking about doing the May Day Metric but Joe is now leaving on Sunday morning, a 6 AM flight, for St. Louis. So instead I am thinking of doing the 45 mile course of the Headwater Century. Start and finish from the parking lot of Enumclaw High School. Leave high school go down into Flaming Geyser, climb out of valley into Black Diamond. Stop for snack at Black Diamond Bakery, continue to Ravensdale, pass Nolte State Park and back into Enumclaw.
If anyone is up for a ride let me know! I'm thinking about a 10 AM start.

Susan, sounds like a great ride, but i'd have to drive from here to Enumclaw and back  80 miles!

And with gas prices . . . yea that is a long drive! It may be just my daughter Jackie and me. Or we may just do the May Day Metric if no one can get to Enumclaw. Just trying to see what will be better for Sunday. It certainly looks like it's going to be an excellent day for anything outdoors!
And next week looks like a winner! I am so excited! I am so tired of this current weather pattern!

Well it's on May 4th Sunday. There are three courses. The 50, 72, and 104 miles. It starts and finishes at Phil's South Side Cyclery in Federal Way. It's to raise money for the Bicycle Alliance of Washington. It's challenging. All three routes follow the same course. You will have the flexibility to determine your distance by choosing a mid day turn around point. Orting is the 50 mile turn around, Wilkeson is the 72 mile turn around, and Carbon River Valley is the 104 mile turn around, then back to Federal Way.
