We had a great ride today, Six in our group, three of each. Three boys on
29er's and three girls NOT ON BIG WHEELS!

The weather was great, perfect spring day. the trails are a bit on the dry side, but given the rain some of you have had, I will take it.

We did about 15 miles in 90 mins. It was a lot of fun, and I did not have any knee pain during the ride. No telling what will come later today, but for now I will take it.

If I am not hurting tomorrow, I am going to run a local 5k, but I am waiting until the morning to decide.

oh and note to self, Don't ride hard 48 hours after donating blood....

We had a great ride on Friday. We went to the Syllamo mtb park and rode the Bad Branch trail. It was great weather but we had to speed it up before the rains came. Here's a pic of hubby enjoying the jaunt on the singletrack.

It was pretty rocky and it rattled my fillings but we had fun. We got kind of turned around when the trail crossed the fireroad and we headed the wrong direction back to the parking area. We cycled about 4 miles before I encountered a forest service guy and flagged him down. He told us that the parking area was about a mile from the trail--the other direction. We were just about pooped by the time I got back to the truck. We got home just as severe weather had moved through the park and was headed our way.

Hmmm... where to post... where to post....?

March 26?
April 26?
Or April 26 and 27?

This one methinks!

Yesterday was race day... so just over 50kms all up - 37.5 at race pace. Rain was promised, but it turned out to be a mild overcast day. A relief cause it is a dangerous course - we almost always have a crash in one of the grades in this course. But to my knowledge no-one went down. A great relief.

I had to work real hard for my 5th placing, so today I just did a gentle med/low intensity recovery ride on rolling "flats" :p
Just 23kms today on my own with Melissa Etheridge rocking to me.

Still no rain, just low cloud - so very nice weather to ride in.

RR were you racing cross? That is some serious distance for off road racing.
