Hi I am new to the site and to bike riding. My husband and I are looking to buy new bikes and start riding. Mian goal it to loose wieght and get in shape again. I have alot of weight to loose. My fear is getting a bike that will not be strong enought to hold my weight, and that I wont be able to keep up with DH. We would like to spend about 300 each. two local stores have bikes in that range. on is a KHS and the other is a trek. Not sure about either one.
Any suggestions.

Tina

and you might not be able to keep up with DH. But there's no reason why he can't slow down and or stop and wait. My DH has realized that if he wants to ride with me, he HAS to slow down.

Well we have pretty much decided that as soon as we get the rebate from Uncle Sam we will be buying our bikes. I think Ihave decided on the KHS mainly because the guy that owns the store was so nice to us. he did see my weight as an issue to sell more than I need. He didnt even bring it up like at the other stores. I cant wait. I am so excited. my only fear now is that my wrist wont be healed enough I injured the tendon at the base of my writs and start of my forarm. So I havent been able to do my normal work outs for a few weeks have one more week in a brace. then I will start up again. Any I am sorry for rambling, Any one know good areas to ride in and around Spring Hill, Fl

Welcome chickiepooh (love that name)!

While you're waiting for your bike and your wrist to heal, why not go for walks? Being active doesn't have to be just bikes.

I hope you find your new bike a delight to ride. We're here for inspiration and help!

Thread drift: Ohh, that's what this mystery bike is in my office parking garage. I've noticed an influx of bikes on the bike rack lately and noticed that mine wasn't the only Kona out there but haven't had a chance to catch it close up.
