This is my hubby's beautiful old bike. He bought this bike in 1987 with his own money at Buena Park Bike shop in So Cal. It came Campy C-record equipped and was built by a local guy, Gian Simonetti. He raced and rode it for many years but then tried to sell it while in college, thankfully nobody wanted an old 6 speed non ergo bike.

He recently had it repainted, the same as original (by Gian) and updated the drivetrain to 10 speed. The brakes, headset, bottom bracket, and seat post are all original. He has ridden it twice and I get to stare at it the whole time! I love the view. I hope you all enjoy the pic.

And a special thanks to indysteel for the wheelbuilder recommendation in another thread as his wheels made the bike even more beautiful.

Very cool bike. Thanks for sharing the picture. It isn't as pretty as yours, but similary, my husband recently had his first road bike refurbished. It is a steel frame Puegot that he bought in 1975. I doubt it will see too many miles since it is parked next to his custom Lynsky, but I didn't give him any grief over the refurb project. If he has held on to it for 33 years he obviously likes the bike.

Yep - looks positively edible :p Very, very attractive.

But can he really ride it with the saddle tilted that far up? My "bits" are kind of cringing just looking at it...

It is very pretty isn't it? Almost too pretty to be a boys bike ;) And no he does not ride it with the saddle tilted up that far. I should have been more mindful of that when I took the pic after he finished building it. The sun had just gone down and I was trying to get the shot while the light was good.

Thanks for all the nice comments!
