It's working fine for me. Are you getting an error message or just timing out?

No answer, but having the same problem.
Numerous occasions it's just timed out; most of the time I receive an error message that there are problems with the site.

Same here! But every other site I go to works fine. Which is why I think it is not me but the forum site.

Just out of curiousity when it does that try doing a traceroute to the site. That will show which step along the path is causing the problems.
Go to your start menu and click on run (assuming you're running windows xp). In the run window type cmd and click on ok. This will bring up a dos prompt. Type tracert forums.teamestrogen.com and hit enter. That will then show you every step along the path that the packet of data takes to get between your computer and the forums. It could be that the forums are okay but there's a roadblock somewhere between you and them, which could cause some people to have problems while others get to the site just fine.

And I'm supposed to remember that?? Riiigggghhhtt
I blamed some of my trouble getting on to the new updates applied to my Uncle Sam computer. Figured this is what I get for going on line at work..

I guess not. I suppose you could save it if you care, or ignore it if you don't. There are always lots of options.

But it won't fix anything.
What Brandi and others have encountered is an interweb black hole.

If you diagnose something then it becomes fixable. If a dozen people are all getting dropped at the same point then they can phone their ISPs and report the routing glitch and the ISPs can get it fixed.

Okay, I'm not holding my breath on that one. We have a new ISP -- definitely NOT by choice -- our old provider was bought by another company. Customer service stinks, service itself stinks, repair work stinks...

That is so cool that you know about this stuff! I don't have any connectivity problems but I find it fascinating when someone knows how to fix the "magic box".

I'm a Mac user myself. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/scared/scared0012.gif (http://www.lawyer-solicitors-uk.co.uk)

Sorry everyone - we have had several 1-2 hour outages over the past month.
The forums moved to a new server a few months ago and that server has had some issues that have required several reboots. We've also had trouble with rude robots/spiders that have sucked up 100% of the server's resources and slowed the site to a crawl and even a dead stop. We've added more RAM to the server and implemented a spider trap to catch and automatically ban spiders that ignore the robots.txt file, so hopefully things will be more stable going forward.
Please note that if you use a browser plug-in that follows every link on the site (including hidden links) in an effort to look-ahead and cache pages to speed up your browsing experience, that you could get caught in the spider trap and be blocked from accessing the site. If that happens to you, just send me an email and I'll remove your IP address from the block list.

And we should be out riding during that time.
Thanks for keeping TE up and running! Long live TE :D
