Woohoo Jo!

Jo finished a 200k! Jo finished a 200K!

And she's got a great write up about it in her blog. Of course it helps that she says nice things about me in it. :D

Jo rocks! Plus she is great fun to ride with.

I have some good pictures of a snazzy looking chick on a motorcycle, doing the hair flip and providing sustenance. I also have a nice one of the matching wrist bands Jo and I were wearing that I'll post later.

Jo does rock! And I'm glad she's learned what she calls "one of the Great Truths of Brevet Survival: Don't Think", so she will now undoubtedly be successful in her R-12 goals.

Good job ladies!

Way to go, Jo!! I am so impressed - that's a long way to ride, with headwinds AND hills! And what a great support team! (Now I get all the Bottle Opener references!)

Very nice write up and photos too! :)

I don't want to hijack Jo's thread, but since you asked. It's good motorcycle hair:

And I have to take credit for the BEST pic that Jo has on her blog - the attacked by a tree one! That one was fun to take and to send!!!

nope, the Mt. Hamilton Challenge (http://www.hillsidegraphics.com/hamilton-challenge/). (*gulp*)

I might wuss out and do the up & back route (70 miles & 5300' climbing) rather than the full route (125 miles, 8300' climb). I suppose I'll decide when I reach the top of Hamilton.

Tho it would be nice to do the whole route - then I could pester V & the C.O. at the rest stop they're manning for the Devil Mountain Double. The DMD is being run the same day over some of the same route, but in the opposite direction.

Thanks!

Man, I just get a big kick out of that tree one every time I see it. :D

The MHC 200k route should definitely be doable - I totally think you can do it. The support is good; you don't have to carry all your food because they transport it. Definitely get up the mountain and see how you feel. Be sure to start plenty early - give yourself as much cushion as possible.

Thanks !

Nina & MTK, we actually rode a lot of the same route along Highway 1 we (err - you :o) covered in the Waves to Wine ride, just heading in the opposite direction.

When I was out of the headwind - and hence was able to think again ;) - I was reminiscing about the fun time we had that weekend.

That, and the fact I'm a heckuva lot stronger now than I was that weekend, thank goodness!

Jo, I'm glad you're feeling back "up to snuff". Remember, you did the part of W to W I didn't do - the hard part!! (OT, but it actually took me several more months to get my left hip back to normal.) Doing that route up-wind must have a real grind. As I recall, the downwind run was great. I think I hit 33 mph on the flat with the wind's help. Again, congrats, and "hi" to Leebob too.
