Ready to ride

I've been feeling a little guilty over leaving my dogs at home while I ride so I decided to get a dog trailer. I just got it this weekend and just got it put together so we haven't made it out yet but they're ready to go.

ps this reminds me of this time I stayed in a bed and breakfast in Brussels. the husband was an avid bike rider and would take dachshund, Azure, with him. He would bike and the dog would run along side him. the neighbors thought this was animal cruelty, so the guy bought a dog a trailer like yours. Except the dog hated it and would whine and whimper until it got out and could go running along side again.

DH and I used to have a tandem and we towed the toy poodles in a burley buggy. They hated it. On one ride they were fighting, so I (as the stoker) turned around yelled at them and sprayed them with my water bottle to get them to stop wailing on each other. I'm sure people thought I was a horrible child abuser! That same weekend we were rolling out of camp and some young roadie types yoo-hooed at us as we rode by and said "and baby makes three!" in a mocking voice. the poodles went ballistic and started shrieking at the guys - if you could have seen their faces - it was hilarious. We soon stopped hauling the poodies - they just didn't like it. But I have seen plenty of extremely pleased dogs being chauffeured around in their private carriages - and it's quite a good workout hauling them too! Enjoy! Tokie

I said, "aaaawwwww" out loud when I saw the little darlings.

And then my Airedale/Golden mix brought me a Bart Simpson doll to throw across the room. I said, "aaaawww" again.

what a fun idea! Would a 50 lb dog fit into one of those, or maybe they make different sizes? My old dog Harley (see avatar, he's 14) could ride to work with me.

Arghhhhh!!!! I'm dying from the cuteness overload. Your babies are absolutely adorable. I feel guilty leaving my doggie behind too, but he gets a long off-leash romp in the park every morning before I go out riding.

They've both been for rides in a handlebar basket and seemed to enjoy it but I can only take one at a time and that generally stresses out the one that is left behind. This trailer is a DoggyRide and I decided on it mainly because it was smaller than the others on the market. Combined my dogs are only 17 pounds and although Barnabas (on the left) looks a bit crowded there's plenty of room in this for both of them to turnaround and lay down when they are in there together.

very, very cute...I saw this at the Bike Expo and told my DS/DDiL about it...as they have a mini-dachshund (my dear grand dog!) and I want to get one to take her on rides w/me.
