Voler has some sample shorts & bibs for sale. They were sent to teams for try on purposes and weren't ridden. They're supposedly cleaned and as good as new. $19.95 for a pair of bibs, seems like a good deal:

I just ordered a pair, free shipping too. I got a 10% code for future orders, through 4/30. Use 811SC10 for an extra 10%. I'll let you know how the bibs are but for $20 I'll take a chance.

I ordered some shorts. Wouldn't have minded a LS jersey, but none in my size.

How do the jerseys fit? I'm looking at their sizing chart, and they're saying a small is a size 4-6 equivalent, but the measurements they give for a small are more like a 2-4. I sure would like one of those hi-viz jerseys. One, heck - two or three so I can wear them every day!

Ya know, I just ordered a small short without checking the chart. Duh. The sizes do look like they run a little small. :o

I just ordered bibs and a sl jersey for me. I hope the jersey fits....it LOOK like it should be okay. Full outfit for $40...not bad.
But...no bibs for DH...they are all out...
I got some tri shorts but couldn't get the matching top.
Glad I ordered up a size.

Thanks for the link! I just ordered the tri shorts, the tri shimmel, and the sport top -- all for less than 50 bucks total.

Well, they came in today - complete with a couple of Tootsie Rolls in the bag! :D
I thought the bibshorts were tight...DH said they looked fine. I thought the grey panel was a bit see-thru. Again, DH said it looked fine...but maybe he's biased! :p
The jersey (same size as the bibs, L) was a bit roomy, surprisingly. DH said it looked too big. But then, his mantra is "Tight is fast"....
Not thrilled with the shorts, but I'll give 'em a try. If I had been better about my New Year's resolution to drop 10 pounds...maybe I'd like them more!

I got mine too, along with the Tootsie Rolls. I tried them on and they fit fine so I was glad I didn't order a size up after all. The fabric doesn't feel heavy, I agree. But I'm reserving judgment on that. I think light can still be durable.
I'm interested in the chamois. It seems well-made and not diapery like my PI ones.
I plan on riding in them Saturday so we'll see.
I hope I like them. I got a catalog too and their prices are reasonable.
I haven't tried mine on yet.
I had to wash them first and that's all I'm gonna say about that...

Grrr! To say they run a little small would be the understatement of the year.
Just got my package and eagerly opened it up to try everything on. The shimmel, supposedly a 2XL, looked like it was maaaaybe what I would call a Medium. Same goes for the sport top. The shorts, size XL, I didn't even bother trying on -- when I held them up, I though they might fit my petite 7-year old niece, but they sure as h#ll weren't going to fit me. Everything was insanely tiny.
This is what I hate about athletic apparel for women. The sizes don't match up even remotely to regular clothing sizes. Something labeled 2XL should not in reality be a Medium.
At least their return policy is fairly lenient. Sigh. :(
You really should try those shorts on. They might surprise you and they''re supposed to be tight.
shorts that are too big are useless to me - the chamois stick out and gets caught by the seat :o

reading this thread has been a bit amusing. Some say they're too big, some say they're too small. And SOME say they're just right!
i am resisting. i love the purple paneled ones.

OK! I have now actually ridden in them!!!
I have several thoughts. I think that what we got from the sale is not what you would normally buy. These were sent out to the teams they sponsor so they are light weight and the chamois is rather minimal. The chamois's (chamoises?) shown in the catalog for women's shorts are not what we got from this sale, at least in the short. The women's in the catalog is called 'Diamante', the one in my short looks more like the 'Torino' except it's black rather than gray.
I've been wearing PI smalls, and the Voler small was true to size for me. FYI I'm 5'5"+, 126 which is heavier than what is stated in their chart.
I was ok with the chamois, though it's not what I'm used to. I would have been a little more comfy with some butter and perhaps some gardening :p
The leg band was a little snug, but they always are in new shorts. So I'll reserve judgment on that.
HTH,
I wore this short on the MS150 last weekend and they are fine, not great... but which shorts are great... I haven't found them yet and I have many different brands... no complains... I like the material.

I wore them again last night with the chamois buttered and was quite comfy. We only did about 20 miles though.
I've come to the conclusion that bibs are great! :D :p
Less padding them I'm used to (and maybe would prefer) so the sitbones are a little more sore than usual from my ride. Otherwise like them, especially for the price!
Don't care for the gray see-through part but I'm not wearing anything underneath anyway so you can't really tell :p :o
Does anyone know of a bib short with a little bit more padding? :)
