Dangit! No riding or bike shopping today. We woke up to a dandy snowfall this morning, and it's still falling. It's the heavy, wet, sticky spring snow that sticks to every twig and branch and would be pretty, if I hadn't been planning to test ride bikes today. This is doing nothing for my spring fever.........

It is sort of pretty though... :P
What LBS' need are indoor test tracks. With little hills, etc. ;) That or transporter technology to bring you to where you can test things :D

beautiful! Sorry for your dissapointment, we've had a lot of that out our way, but the good weather is just around the bend. Hang in there! :)

:( So today I picked up my new road bike (first in 21 years). When I say picked it up I mean it very literally. Our last snow is still pretty messy and the streets are covered in salt, I hung my new Felt F70 on my shoulder and carried it home. Maybe enough will melt that I can try "Honeybee" out tomorrow before it snows more Monday.

I feel your pain. Still snow on the ground here and the forcast for the next seven days is snow or snow showers every day. I had my new carbon fork put on yesterday and I'm dying to ride. Arggggg. :(

Ouch! We all share your pain, and that nasty white stuff is forecast to visit us again next week (here in the northeast). Even though there is still a lot of snow on the ground, I took advantage of a sunny day today and found myself a dry road (which means it was a somewhat major road, 2 lanes with paved shoulders) to ride on.

Okay, it's going to be 55 today and I've got to pick up five 12-year-old girl scouts from weekend camp about 3 hours away! Waaahhh! All day in the car instead of all day on the bike! Of course it's going to start raining this evening and get cold all week long. I might not even make it back in time for the Paris-Nice Cyclysm on OLN! Thank goodness for VCRs.

So by sticking to the center of the streets I've been able to try out my new bike. I can't ride with my winter gloves though, the lever reach is too long. It seems OK with my regular full finger gloves though. Drops do feel strange after 20 years on flatbars. I think I want to ride it a while before I start making a lot of adjustments to the fit just to get used to the feel again. I had them set it up with top of the bar level with the seat, I think I will want to rotate the bar so that the hoods are level with the top. I feel like I'm sliding forward onto my thumbs right now, but that may go away once I've adusted to a roadie position. Stay away snow!
