View Full Version : Are disc brakes legal?

I'm posting this for a friend. He wants to try cross but his rig has disc brakes (it's used as a commuter). If he's just racing beginner is that OK? I think they're banned by UCI but I'm sure they'd be fine for a local race.

They are not legal for UCI, are okay for others.

oh my gosh, I really have to try cross. all of those pictures make it look like so much fun. thanks for posting that thread, I missed it the first time around.

It will probably be fine for a local race, especially if he is a beginner.
