DH started racing again this year and started shaving his legs. I thought I would hate the idea but now I have a strange reaction- jealousy!! How is it men have way smoother legs than me? It is just not fair. Oh and since he is so tan, his legs look even better minus the leg hair. The only vindication I get is watching him be like a teenage girl who just started shaving and having to bandage all the cuts and knicks he is giving himself. :p

That's funny!
I think shaved legs on male cyclists is so sexy. I've been trying to convince DH to do it, but since he's a mailman, the men at work would be merciless in their mockery if he came to work in summer with shaved legs. He said it's not worth all the women jokes he'd have to endure from his immature coworkers. :D I might be glad he doesn't- if his legs were smoother than mine I'd be extremely jealous.

Wax: Nads. Oh, and Jergens lotion with gradual self tanner. You, too, will be smooth and tan! (and no nicks!) ;)

Aggie, at a certain point, you won't see those legs clearly enough to see the hair (or lack thereof) and it won't matter. And now you can complain about his stubble.

My BFs hair grows a lot slower then mine, I am always jealous! I probably shave two times for every time he does, and his never feel prickly like mine. But they do look gorgeous shaved!

I actually can't stand the look of hair on a guys legs anymore,hehe- don't think I could ever be with a non-cyclist.

I shave my legs and I don't even race.

I'll admit occassionally doing it, but being self conscious about it for a bit. I don't fool myself thinking that it makes ME faster... but it makes clean-up and healing after a wreck much easier.

Showing off my roadrash from a wreck last year (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y169/etsterling/100_0863.jpg), one co-worker said -

"Hmmm, if you were a woman, you'd have awesome legs!"
Then, word got out that the boss had great legs.

However, I prefer leg hair that is trimmed rather than shaved...not nearly as self-conscious about it...this may be an interim step for those guys who won't go all the way.

My DH will occasionally trim but just gimme the hairy legs over that because sleeping next to him after a trim is :eek::eek:

He cycles alot year-round but has never shaved after all these yrs. of cycling.

Honestly, his legs probably wouldn't look that great shaved. He has great, wiry but fairly thin legs. Nearly bone in some areas.

But I like the power in them. ..:D and sometimes he forgets how strong his legs are..in bed.

I haven't shaved in months..seriously, aging (and mother's genes) is helping me...just seems to be stunting body hair growth to nearly zero. Such freedom......
