Hey all, thought I'd introduce myself here :) I'm 22, and from New Zealand (home of Lord of the Rings, and Peter Jackson, and Pavlova.. and other things I'm sure!). I got into mountainbiking a couple of years ago when I met my boyfriend who introduced me to the sport. I started off on a secondhand Giant hardtail, which I slowly upgraded the bits to (thanks to the high US $ compared to our NZ $ - makes things alot cheaper to import from the likes of Jenson, Greenfish, etc).
Am now riding a Santa Cruz Heckler, which I love. Am still quite a beginner/scaredy cat when it comes to technical downhilly stuff, and have still yet to work on my fitness to get up the long, grinding uphilly stuff. It's just turned into autumn so I may have to acquire a roadbike to work on my fitness over winter. I'm at the bottom of the South Island of NZ, which gets pretty cold and dark (in NZ standards) over winter.
Um. What else? .. Oh. I have a pet wabbit called Monty, who makes an appearance as my avatar picture. No kids, no house, no mortgage, so I have way too much disposable income available (well, comparatively speaking) to spend on bike bits. :o
OK. That's about all from me. I'll just hang around the forums and keep myself entertained :)
