This event has been a tradition for the last few years. Cinderella Ride is coming up soon (Saturday April 5th).
Would love to see all of you again. I believe we have some out of state folks who are coming down and who indicated they would come join us.
Of course in my old age, I don't remember where we had our group fest last year, BUT I can get there! :p:p:p
Anytakers??????
Snap, where are you?

Now that we both have CRS what would we do without search funtions? :p
I'm open to other ideas but Fuzios in Dublin is where we've been before and ... I think their Lemon Drops have been approved.

That's right! How could I forget? Last year, we had a place in the corner where it wasn't so noisy. Perhaps that could be arranged again.
WHERE'S OUR SOCIAL EVENT CHAIRPERSON?????

Well, the last few years someone (not me) did a roll call and sent in the reservations. That's whom I am referring to....:p:p:p

Hmmmmm, just the 3 of us?

If only we 3, perhaps we should meet closer to where you and Spazz live. I can always do BART. If it is in Oakland, Sarah would probably come too which would make 4.
I wonder how much trouble the 4 of us could get into -plotting and scheming!:p:p:p:p

That'll work! I was going to take time off work and arrive late so DD (that's Dear Dog, the mutt, Mae) would have less time alone. If we pick a place in the East Bay I can pick up DD (that's Spazzdog) and carpool to dinner easily.
BART'able would be great. What part of Oakland, which station? Downtown, Rockridge?

Just to remind y'all how fun this has been, one of the past dinner reports:
http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=2382
I've never been to Tamarindo, always game for Le Cheval .... Rockridge .... hmmm, what's the Italian place? Il Pomadoro? sumthin like that?
I'm heading home from work, I expect choices made and lots of interest by the time I get home or there'll be some 'splainin' to do :D

Hey Gals,
Sorry for not responding....to say I've been busy would be an understatement. ;)
I'm open for wherever and whatever....as long as I get carbs - pasta preferred, but I can do mex. Fuzio's works, but maybe you guys know of somewhere different?
Small group this year!

Perhaps BikeMomma and Smilin Cat could carpool over to Rockridge OR Oakland (majority rules???) Also BART from Pleasanton is easy to Oakland. WE can tell you how to do that too.:p:p:p
I prefer an Oakland type BART stop.......

Bike Goddess and all. Tomorrow is a crazy busy day for me. Someone please pick an eatery. I'm off work at 6 and will try to be there. Between the remodel, my job, and other errands I won't be able to coordinate this tomorrow.
Sorry it's so last minute. We'll do better next year.

Okay- Pasta Pomodoro
5500 College Ave
Oakland, 94618
Oliveto Cafe
5655 College Ave
Oakland, CA
You can mapquest these to figure out where they are- within a block of each other. I can get off at the Rockridge BART station- and meet everyone there or nearby.
I'll call both Shawn and Dita today.
Okay with me if we don't do this, but I need to know as I'm not coming over for nothing.
Hopefully I'll see you all tonight!

I just checked mapquest to the restaurant. The two are right next door. I'll go for either location.
I just printed out BART schedule to/from pleasanton :D cheap! I'll make sure I have exact change just in case. but it looks like two changes and 30 minutes to rockbridge BART :D
Runs frequent :D
Found the location of Dublin/pleasanton station too. Close to where I am staying.
I think the BART is going to be busy on Friday night. Going into town. no??
well its running every 15 minutes.

Smiling Cat and I will meet at the bottom of the escalator at Rockridge BART 7:00 ish. We will meet Sarah there as well.
Let's all meet at Oliveto's Cafe- 7:00ish and then decide which to patronize- them or Pasta Pomodoro since they are very near each other.
Looking forward to close encounters! :D:D:D

That should work well. My plan if I have one is I'll get off work at 6, walk briskly to the car and pick up Spazzdog. She's nearby. We'll carpool to Rockridge and find you.
Look for the short round gal, purple ALC shirt, clashing Ibex green jacket, jeans, glasses .... needs a haircut.

Sounds good, you guys.
Smilingcat (thanks for the PM) - I'm not sure what time I'll be getting to the Dublin area. What time do you think you'll be at the Dublin station, so I have a time to aim for? If I get to the area early enough, perhaps I can meet you there. I haven't had a chance to check the Bart schedule either, OR how much it costs. I'm so behind...:o

Dinner was delish' and so much fun to see familiar faces and meet new ones. Olivetos is a little dark so no pictures this year.
Thank you, BikeGoddess for organizing this. Thank you Olivetos waiters for putting up with 6 crazy women cyclists in the midst of the oh so very classy Rockridge crowd ("who let them in? did they have reservations? did you let them in?" ;)).
Thank you Spazzdog for keeping the tradition alive.
I know everyone will have a great ride tomorrow. Post pictures. Sorry I can't go, not only have I not trained but .... I gotta find a kitchen counter.
the 'dog and I were thinking that I've never seen a velodrome, or live track racing, I've haven't seen a crit close up in 20 years.
Watch this space for "Trek & Spazzdog day at the races" :p

We (Sarah and I ) liked Oliveto's but felt a little too expensive and "classy" for such homegrown folks as us.:( The food was good, but not much of it! Next year, mo betta please!!!!
Sarah remarked that she liked the small group- had a chance to really listen to what everyone said which was quite fun. Spazz was in her usual entertaining mode so we all laughed a lot. This is a great opportunity to see old friends so I hope we continue the tradition.

Pomadoro would have been better price and quantity wize but it was jam packed. So was the brew pub across the street (I don't know if they serve pasta but their food is good). There's good Thai down the street but I did not think to check there.
I should have thought to have them stash us in the cafe', le$$ but still those gourmet portions. I like Oliveto's and sitting here with no kitchen and for some odd reason there's one of my cabinet drawers on a living room chair and another on the sofa as things get put together it is just nice to have the gourmet meal. :)
I'm sure this will be better planned next year. I like Rockridge and it seemed handy for all.
I could not have asked for better company. :D Well I could, Knott wasn't there ;)
Now, how was the ride?

I really enjoyed meeting you all. And Spazzdog is one genuine article. Haven't laughed so hard. Being able to put real faces behind Trek's squid and everyone else was a big big plus for me.
And the face to face direct conversation is so much better than the posts we do here. Well maybe some of you do IM's but it still not the same.
So thank you for coordinating the dinner on such short notice. And on Friday night, What were we thinking???
