View Full Version : Riding back home and it feels a little weird

After months of running around like a chook with my head cut off I have finally made it out for a few rides around our new neighbourhood. First I am pleased to report that I have managed to stay on the left side of the road and not get squished. However I felt like I had been hit by a bus (apparently minimal riding for months is not a good training regime) and was barely making the wheels spin by the time I arrived home.
Lucky that I put on extra weight while getting unfit as now I have added incentive to get out an ride aaaggggg:o.
At least my return to TE is pain free.:D
Im so happy to be back on line with the TE gang.

Good to see you Trekhawk, and good to read that you are surviving the "wrong side" of the road.....
Somehow your avatar always looks comforting to me.

Thanks everyone Im so pleased to be back.
We are pretty well settled in with just a few boxes of my husbands still to unpack. Hee hee this move proved that my husband has more stuff than I do. You guys should have seen all the stuff that came out of storage....scary really.
CC - not Kalamunda road mate just a few bumps near my house. I think it will be awhile before I can get up that hill without the paramedics being close at hand.
Now to go read some other posts and see what you all have been up to in my absence....behaving yourselves I hope.:D

So TH, for some reason our Death Ride team this year is loaded with Aussies. It's the most amazing thing. We got a lot of Fosters Group folks (Fosters may be Australian for beer, but these are the winery guys) - and one of them even LIVES there still, but is doing DR with us! He lives in Melbourne and one of the non-Fosters Aussie guys ratted him out by telling me Melbourne is dead flat. So I have no clue how he'll get his training in, but he's apparently pretty strong.
Anyway, I get such a kick out of having all these Aussie guys riding with us! Miss you, though!

Yep Melbourne itself is pretty flat but the state of Victoria does have an Alpine region so maybe he intends on visiting it. Fosters is Australian for terrible beer maybe thats why they are winery guys.:D
BikerZ - glad you like the quote. I think of you each time I walk down my hall as I have one of the cards you gave me framed and hanging there.:)

Thanks Nina!!
My bike was complaining that the roads are not as nice as the USA and she is right. An awful lot of chip seal around here UUUGGGG. I miss those lovely smooth California roads.
I hope you are getting out for some nice rides and not working too hard Nina.
Keep Safe
