Please help, any advice would be great. My boyfriend and I have been mountain biking for awhile and we love it, we are going to get into road cycling next, but I am torn between the WSD Trek 2.1 Pilot or the Cannondale Synapase Feminine 6 Carbon?
Thanks in advance

Kerry:)
Have you ridden both of them?

I haven't riden a Pilot, but I own a Synapse Carbon. I believe the Synapse is a more aggressive geometry, while the Pilot is a little more upright. Some riders find being more upright to be more comfortable on longer rides. I love my Synapse and regularly ride four or more hours, I find it a very comfortable bike for me. There are several Pilot owners on here that love their bikes. Test ride them both and see what geometry you like, both are very good bikes.
PS- Welcome to TE!

No, I haven't been able to test ride at the LBS yet. But I plan to whenever I can get a chance to and they have both bikes put together. Thanks for the advice

You need to ride them (and others if you can). Get the one that fits the best and feels the best.

I'm trying to test ride the above bikes...I stopped by the LBS and they had one of the cannondales built but way to small for me, it was even prettier in person. I'm drooling over this bike and have almost completely written off the Trek, but my logical mind says to try both if I can ever find them at the LBS to actually test ride.
Thanks again everyone! Hope to be road-riding soon. : )

The LBS I bought mine from was willing to build one up for me to test. Do they have something of the same geometry to test? Maybe the less or more expensive version?

Listen to the logical mind. If you make the wrong choice your logical mind will never let you live it down.

I have been riding a Trek Pilot 1.2 for 3 years.....I LOVE IT! It's a more upright bike, so be aware of that. It also has brakes in two places, which seems safer to me. I also believe that the geometry of the bike and your comfort depends on many things. I am 64, so sitting more upright is easier on my back. But the bike performs wonderfully. My DH and I ride between 25-35 miles 3-4 days a week in the spring and summer (will it ever get warm here in NJ???) :)

Thank you so much for the input, its greatly appreciated.
I got a chance to test ride the Cannondale yesterday, the LBS built it for me to test ride, what a great bunch of people who love cycling! So very helpful. I should be able to test ride the Trek tomorrow ?? The Cannondale was great and smooth, and it's pretty w/ that splash of pink : )
I have heard the Trek's are pretty good as well (I have a Trek 4300 MTB already). So the logical mind is winning the battle and holding out to test ride both.
Thanks Ladies!
