Started my day off with my first commute of the year. I finally got the new tires for my touring bike and more importantly the rain stopped. It was quite chilly this morning when I left the house (33 F) but it felt so good to be riding to work. The ride is short and so I never had a chance to get cold. It is only 2 miles. As I walked down the hall to my classroom I heard a colleague say to another teacher "she is crazy, its too cold to be riding to school!" I just smiled and kept walking.

The sun came out today and by the time the school day ended the temperature had climbed to a warm 50 F. As soon as I finished some after school stuff I changed and was out the door. Gosh it felt good to be on my old bike (I love my new bike so don't get me wrong). Along the way I was treated to a chorus of spring peepers. A sure sign things are warming up and spring will soon arrive. The wind was tough at times but my legs felt good today so no compliants.

I'm looking forward to my commute tomorrow but will not ride after school for I'm going to tackle a century on Saturday.
