Way too much to go into online - but DH's uncle is in the hospital with probably not much time left, his aunt is in another hospital apparently basically okay, although honesty about health conditions isn't this family's strong suit; his sister is suffering complications from diabetes and in fairly good recovery from acute kidney failure; his niece is having to deal with being 15 years old and in the middle of all this physical and even more emotional turmoil; and his parents are just suffering under the strain of being very elderly and being called upon to be support persons and caretakers.
So please, could you pray for love, reconciliation, openness and support; for health where it's possible, and freedom from discomfort where it's not; for strength and serenity for everyone involved.
thank you so much -
Positive healing thoughts headed out to you and yours.
Peaceful healing butterflies on their way to all of the family, and to you,
Hugs,
~T~

Wishing you the best in this hard time. It's Spring, which has a way of lifting spirits. Take care of yourself.

Thanks all for your thoughts and prayers. DH's uncle was moved out of ICU to a regular room yesterday - hoping that's good news. No update on his aunt. His parents did seem cheered by our visit, I know his dad really enjoyed the concert we took them to. Everything else is stable - in it for the long term. There's only so much we can do - trying to get DH to take care of himself is high on the list right now. I'll keep you updated.

Yeah, this is huge. And, you take care of yourself, too. You can't help but be absorbing some of his stress. (or, maybe you can! :) )

Good news, first: sister is off prednisone and her kidneys appear to be functioning.
Not good news on the uncle. The only thing I know to pray there is "God's will be done," and comfort for the family. It really seems we're beyond the point where any earthly outcome will be happy. :(

My positive thoughts are with you and your dh's family. Remember to accept the things you can not change. A lot of times familyies are like this!

Answers to prayers are not always what we think they should be... Sometimes the real answers are that we get through these difficult times. You all are in my prayers, whatever the answer...
That made more sense when I thought it than when I typed it.

Uncle passed away this afternoon.
I've only just had that news by text message. I can't imagine what the scene must be like there. :(:(:(
By all accounts he enjoyed his life and lived it to the fullest. It's just a shame it had to end this way. Make out your living wills, people.
