I'm too sick with a cold to go riding today though the weather is nice. :(

So, instead I decided to make some little adjustments, and clean up the bike, lube the chain, etc. She's so beauteous I had to take a picture. I'm smitten! But I want some advice.......

I'd like comments about how you would improve her looks even more. Thoughts I've had include: white saddle, blue tires, white or blue bar tape. What combination of tires, saddle, and bar tape would you get for her?

ETA: The angle of that picture makes the bars look so high! Like a tourer! It is a high rise stem, but the bars are 3cm below the saddle... I swear! :p I do tend to suffer from low back pain, hence the high rise stem, but I don't need the bars at the same height as the saddle. Still, I'm sure the elitists in the park think I'm such a poser with the bars so high on a racing bike. Ech... "so what" I say!

I've been sick too! She is, indeed, pretty. Have you considered blue tires?

Yes indeed I have! I just added a plea for opinions on the original post...

I'd go with white bar tape. If the saddle's comfortable then I'd never screw with it just for looks. I kind of think that blue tires might be a bit much. She's so pretty already, I'd hate to overdo it.

I think I agree with EDHgirl. White tape would be gorgeous.

Very hot bike!

ETA: Is that a Terry? They are making a few white saddles right now, including the Butterfly I believe.

Yeah... I wouldn't want to overdo it either. But, since it is such a unique bike, I thought maybe something should be different to enhance the look. I'm looking for a new saddle anyway, and the ones I'm considering all come in white or black.

Personally, I think a honey Brooks adorns any bike, whatever the colors.

Any time I try to match things to something else, like blue with blue, it always winds up looking like I tried to match it. I find that when I contrast, it is so much better! I'd let the blue stay on your bike and make the blue accents be very small items. I like the thought of white for saddle and tape, or keeping it black. I'm afraid that if you get blue tires, blue bar tape and blue seat, you are going to have a dozen different shades of blue that don't quite match. I kind of like it like it is in the picture! Sort of a ring of black around the blue middle!

I would disagree with the white bar tape.
At the moment I have white bar tape, white hoods, and a white saddle and let me tell you the bar tape is not white anymore!! And the hoods have dark marks where my fingers sit :-(
The white saddle also has gotten a little dirty from flipping the bike over on the road to change a rear tire.

This weekend the bar tape and the hoods are being switched out to red(the oh so sweet BF ordered them as a surprise and they came in today!!)

So yes, the white looks awesome! Especially if you do it with white hoods, but it is horribly painful to keep white.

But we are all pro racers. So there's a spare bike on the team car if we get a speck of dirt on the white bar tape.

Right? ;)

Hmmm... I'm thinking blue bar tape, and maybe tires w/ a blue bead running through them. Or not?? I dunno?? Everyone has different tastes..

I'd say tires with a blue stripe, but other than that, she's perfect!

Who cares what other riders think about your stem height--as long as you're comfortable and love your ride. :) And she's one sweet honey of a ride!

Cool ride!
White bar tape, White saddle, white bottle cages, and blue stripe tires...
do it all!

Well, I think the only improvement that bike needs is to have a rider and be outdoors on a road or trail somewhere.

Of course, it would also look even better at my house. :)

(I think white tape and seat would get dirty fast. And it's a GREAT looking bike!)

Thanks for all the posts ladies! Seems there is no consensus at all... :p At least I wasn't missing something obvious.

I'd hate to try to keep anything on a bike white! I won't even buy white socks or a white jersey!

If you find a blue that matches, blue bar tape and/or a blue striped tire. Fast Freddie Crank Bros. Quattro Pedals, or the plain black quattro with the blue spring - very sexy. And a fabulous rider! That's what this beauty needs.

Thanks... I'm not a fabulous rider today for sure. Still sick... :(

I'm sorry you're still sick! Mine is just a headcold now, which means that I *am* allowed to exercise! yay! .....but.....we're super busy today and....it's *snowing*!! We're keeping our fingers crossed for a ride tomorrow. It might have to be in our basement again, though.

But you've got a computer and an internet connection, you can go shopping for bike stuff!

Hugs and butterflies,

I think Blue looks awesome just as she is. I wouldn't change a thing.

Just chiming in with the sick crowd here....3 weeks, raging head cold/sinus something. Blech.

I'm finally feeling better as of yesterday though still very easily fatigued. I've taken a couple of easy trainer rides to just get moving again...

Thanks for all the nice comments about Blue. She and I appreciate it!

7Rider, I love your signature. I've always felt badly for neglected bunnies. I'm an animal rights activist in my copious spare time (yeah right). Some people just don't think, do they?

I have to agree with LBTC. How do you keep white bar tape white?
