I just thought I would share a positive experience I had recently with a shop called Trinity Bicycles in Irving, TX. I was searching for a handbuilt set of wheels for a Salsa Casseroll I am building up and came upon their website.
Being that I live in Denver, I was a bit hesitant to use a shop in another state for my first set of handbuilts. But talking with the owner, a cat 1 racer named Joey Spragins who was amazing to deal with, helped me put all doubts to rest. He answered all of my questions quickly, knowledgeably, and with a great deal of patience. The price was more than fair and the wheels are gorgeous.(paul hubs, wheelsmith spokes, and velocity aerohead rims) He also helped me out with great suggestions for other component choices.
I have nothing to gain by writing this. In fact, I have never before felt motivated to write a review like this for any one shop. I am merely a firm believer in the power of word of mouth, or in this case word of post. Don't get me wrong, Denver and Boulder have no shortage of quality bike shops in which I have had good experiences. However, I would have to classify my overall experience with Trinity Bicycles as EXCELLENT! Not your run of the mill big box bike shop that is for sure.
If you are looking for an attitude free shop where you won't be talked down to, and that carries bike lines and components you may not see everywhere else like Waterford and Kogswell (I want one!!), I would definately check them out. http://www.trinitybicycles.com/
