I want to share a book my friend just gave me. I had never heard of it. Some of you might already know about it. I have not read the whole book but I am really intrigued by it.
I personally don't suffer (anymore) from very many female problems. But phycologically I can always use advice and inspiration. Le tme know if you are already in with this book and your thoughts. if you liked it or not.
When my friend gave it to me I could tell her passion for the help it has given her touched her deeply. How could I not read it?
Christiane Northrup,M.D.
Women's bodies,
Women's Wisdom
It has been revised like 4 times.

I have "How We Die" waiting for me but I'm just not in the mood for it. That last Bill Bryson was so good I'm looking for something like that.

I have her menopause book (planning ahead, I'm in peri-) and I think it's quite good. I think she's more new age than some feel comfortable with, but as with all books, take what's useful & helpful, and leave the rest behind. I feel her approach is pro-woman, pro-health (rather than just treating symptoms), and accepting of good alternative medicine. I also like that she encourages women to develop real relationships with their bodies, trusting their own instincts and intuitions. My own approach now is that we are our own primary physicians, responsible for learning about our bodies and actively keeping ourselves healthy. Everyone else we go to - is a second opinion;).

Zen - you absolutely slay me.:D:D:D

I can't stop giggling! I'm not sure I will ever be in the mood for "How we die."

Ok - I'm not sure if you meant to be funny, it just struck a chord and I'm tittering away to myself.

I can see that, I guess it didn't occur to me what an unusual title it is but it's a real book (http://www.amazon.com/How-We-Die-Reflections-Chapter/dp/0679742441/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1205556529&sr=1-1)

+1 for How We Die. It's not as morbid as it sounds. Now, Stiff (http://www.amazon.com/Stiff-Mary-Roach/dp/0141007451/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1205569926&sr=1-1)... that's morbid.

+1 for Women's Bodies/Women's Wisdom. If you enjoyed this, also check out Our Bodies, Our Selves (http://www.amazon.com/Bodies-Ourselves-Century-Touchstone-book/dp/0684842319).

I agree fully! I have a lot of friends who have health issues, and follow what their Dr says but are not any better. I wish anti depressants where not given out so much. I have a friend who has been on them for years and I don't feel they help. It seems they have caused lots of other side problems. That is just my opinion I could be wrong.
