I ordered some running skirts and they arrived in the mail yesterday. So last night I decided to put one on and see what it was like to ride in a skort. I've been considering buying one but wasn't sure it would be comfortable.

Now a couple of days ago I was having a bad day and just wanted to get on the bike to relieve some stress. But I wanted to watch some tv instead of doing a structured workout which meant I had to move the bike and trainer downstairs from my bedroom to the living room. I totally forgot last night that I hadn't actually put my bike back on the trainer properly. It looked like it was on the trainer but it wasn't tightened on the skewer. So here I am getting on the wild and free bike with nary a clue. I didn't realize it until I got on the bike and it tipped a bit to one side. Thank goodness I didn't start pedaling - I would have become intimately acquainted with my bookshelf.

Has anyone else had "fun" trainer experiences?

Oooh, lucky you that you didn't kiss the floor!

I had an older trainer and was pedaling away to my heart's content. Then I stood up on the pedals, trainer gave way, and I fell while still clipped in. :o I tell ya, if anythings possible, I'll find a way to do it. :)

One of the guys on my team last year set his trainer up under a tree and accidentally got part of the support on a large root, which caused the whole bike/trainer/rider complex to fall over as soon as he got on

So, um, what was he doing riding a trainer outdoors? :)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one to have a trainer mishap. I'm extra glad it wasn't in public like the guy with the tree root. I can imagine that surprised him quite a bit.

I was just thinking about how I'd explain my first bike crash to people. "No, no, that's just floor rash. . ." doesn't sound nearly as exciting as road rash. :D

Sundial - I think I'm the same way, if anything is possible I find a way to do it, too.

Yup, me too. Almost went through our 60 in TV. I also did not have the quick release handle lined up correctly. My husband and brother thought I was the only one that could fall off a bike while on a trainer. Now I can say it happens to the BEST of us :)

No fun experiences with the trainer, but I've fallen off the rollers several times, once almost ending up in the fireplace! :o

So I fell off the trainer today!
I couldn't find my trainer skewer, so I figured I would make it work with my normal fulcrum one. Should of known it was a bad idea. I thought I had it all adjusted and pretty tight, moved it around some before I got on and it didn't budge. I then proceeded to get on and start pedaling and a few minutes later the left side slipped out and I fell left:eek: Good thing my sofa was right next to me, made the fall not so horrible. It then made me think of this thread, hehe :-)

Hopefully this will be the only time I make that mistake!!

My good friend did this and ended up almost through the tv. You all are not alone! I keep it in the back of my head -- check that all is tight before getting on. I let him be a lesson to me!
