Hi everyone! So, I have read such good things on this forum about these shoes, that I got some (last year's model - great price!), but they have look type holes drilled and I ride spd - there seems to be a converter thingy that you just screw into those three holes that converts it to spd type clippies. Also, in the 'shoe manual', there is a picture of how to install spd type clippies. When I call the slightly snooty stores around town asking about this converter, they say it stacks the shoe too high and it makes it a little unstable.... and I should really get the look things. I am perfectly happy with my spd pedals and clippies. What do you guys think? Should I switch to look? Should I get the converter? Has anyone else had this problem? All I want to do is go out and ride - why is this so tough? Thanks for any input you have!

Hi Ginny,

I have never used the converter so I can't say from experience how they work. However, if it has any heighth to it at all, I can see where the LBS might say it would make it unstable. Honestly, I like my Look pedals a lot better than my spd's. I am one of the weirdo's that went the other way though ... from Look's to SPD's. I wanted a shoe that I could walk around in comfortable because I do a lot of really long rides and overnight rides. Anyway, I switched to a MTB shoe with SPD pedals ... I wish I had my Look's back on everytime I clip in.

I don't know how much all of this helps you :p but I thought I'd try to give you a little feedback.
