As far as I know, the rear tire usually wears out much more quickly than the front. So do people ever "rotate" their tires, swapping the rear onto the front and vice versa? Wouldn't that allow for more even wear?
Just wondering if anyone knows if people do this or if not, why not.

Sheldon Brown said no ( http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-rotation.html ). I've heard this elsewhere.
You want your best tire on the front--if it blows it will disturb handling much more than if you blow the rear.

Don't rotate rear to front but, front to rear is ok. I run 2 rears for every front, so I often start with 2 new tires, at about 2000 miles either put a new rear on, or rotate the front to the rear and put the new tire on the front.
