Somewhere where measurements are taken from "centre". ;)

May I be the first to welcome you to TE. Introduction of ones self in the getting to know you thread? :D

Yet the email address is for Texas Tech University. A Canuck stuck in 'Merica maybe?

I can vouch that that's a pretty good price for that bike if it is as meticulous as she says. I paid that for my RC4 last season. It was a slightly used frame with brand new Shimano 105 parts except for Ultegra level crankset and shifters and an aluminum handlebar (not carbon like hers). I absolutely adore my bike... I'd love for it to have a twin in the TE community. :p

See http://rideblue.com/bikearchive.php?state=rc4 for geometry and http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?id=tech/2005/reviews/blue_rc4 and http://www.emerys.com/BLUErc4.htm for reviews. See the link in my sig for pics of mine.

I just googled Nicole Gilinsky... She seems very involved in cycling and served as team support for an elite women's team that raced on RC4's in '06.

Yes, I do live in Texas but am originally from Canada - hence the spelling of centre - I often make that mistake! I had the pleasure of traveling around to some races with Team Biovail. I helped with writing race reports and website updates and managed to get some good training in as well.
The Blue was a pleasure to ride and now has the new components from a bike I recently purchased. I am going to attempt to attach some photos.

It's an absolutely gorgeous bike, at what sounds like a great price. If you were closer to me, I would drive over for a test. But, I don't feel experienced enough yet, or dialed in enough, to buy a bike long distance. :(

Seems like a sweet deal on a nice bike, though.

Thank you. It is a pretty easy bike to get set up and comfortable on but I understand being hesitant about a long distance purchase.

I had never heard of this bike till I noticed there are many TE'ers who have them. Seems like a great bike. :)

The bike looks great, and is totally my bike's twin. Even the same size! I hope the geometry works for someone here, cause it's a great ride.

Aside from the bike being very pretty :) I have also found that Blue are responsive to customers. I had to replace the seat post collar because I over-tightened mine and they sent me a new one (no charge) in the mail within days. The USAT National team rides them and the Colavita Women's cycling team rode them for the last few seasons.

Thanks, I would love to see it go to a good home. I was considering listing on ebay... my boyfriend just sold his on ebay and the buyer promptly turned around and stripped the bike down to all its parts and sold it scrap by scrap. It was sad to see his first road bike in pieces like that.

If it gives you any peace of mind, Nicole, I bought my RC4 frame on Ebay and no bike has ever been treated with more adoration. The previous owner and I emailed quite a bit, and when I had the frame built up, I sent him a picture. He was so happy it went to a good home. DH also sold his bike on Ebay to a guy who just adores it and sent us a nice update about how much fun he's having with it. So... just to say... not all Ebayers are bike butchers. :p

That is good to know! I will wait it out and see if I get any more interest here. I realize that not having a history on this forum might make it difficult for some buyers to take the chance and buy the bike. I thought I would post it up here and see if anyone fell in love with it. Thanks for all of your positive feedback about the bike though.

I realize that not having a history on this forum might make it difficult for some buyers to take the chance and buy the bike.

I think it's likely to be tough to sell here only because there are very few places to go test ride a Blue. So, it's hard to know whether it will fit just right. Also, as pretty as it looks in pictures, it's nothing compared to seeing it in person. I was blown away when my bike actually arrived. It's not just beautiful, but such a solid, well-built bike.

It might still happen, though! Good luck...

I bought this bike today :)

I've never ridden a Blue, but I fell in love with them when I saw them at a pro race here last summer. I thought about getting a carbon bike this year, and was originally going to buy a Look frame and put my existing components on it. Instead I'm getting a frame that's almost as good and components that are way better. Not to mention an unparalleled paint scheme.

Now I just hope it fits!

Kate

It arrived, and it's beautiful. Right now it's in my LBS getting built up, and on Wednesday I'll get a bike fit. I can't wait! Especially since it's finally supposed to be over 40 degrees this week.:)

Awesome! Yes, tell us what you are having done to it. It sounded like it had great components as it was.

It's awesome with the components it came with. I took it to my team's sponsor shop, NOW bikes in St. Paul, and they put it together and put on my Aliante saddle and Time pedals, from my old bike.

I just have to say, I LOVE carbon! I wondered whether I'd really be able to tell the difference between aluminum and carbon. Uh, yeah.

I also love the Ultegra components. It's such a great ride. Makes me love cycling even more than I already did. I took it out for the first time last night, and I stayed out so long I barely got back before nightfall. I'm looking forward to tomorrow so I can show it off on a group ride :)

It's soooo much nicer than my aluminum frame/carbon fork/105 components Cannondale.

And the hills! I just fly up them now!

I fell in love with the way it looks, but I'm going to stay in love with the way it rides

Woo hoo!!! Glad you love it and that it's a good fit. I think I'm the only other RC4 owner on the board. You'll get lots of looks and comments on the frame from other cyclists, it's fun!

Have a great time with it, and keep us posted!
