Well it was absolutely gorgeous today. Joe and I got 37 miles in and I took a few pictures. Joe complained every time I made him stop so that I could get a picture. We plan to ride again tomorrow and he said, "NO camera tomorrow!"

Nice pics Susan! I'm a bit like Joe. We sometimes take the camera but rarely are willing to stop and actually take pictures. :o
Anyhoo, we went out for our FIRST outdoor ride of the season this afternoon. It was mostly sunny and warmish (8 degrees?). Boy, it felt so good to be outside and actually going somewhere for a change. We toodled around on the neighbourhood hills on our mountain bikes and then went down to the flats to put on a faster (relatively) faster k's. 1:30 hours, 30 km. It took my 5:39 to climb the hill home though. I can do it in 3:45 on my road bike...

Susan, what kind of saddle is that on your bike (yours is the red one, right?)?
I got in 35 miles today. Wow, one of those rare, really sunny, blue sky, winter days in the PNW.

Hah, looks like all the bad weather migrated to CA this weekend ! Glad you folks up north are having a nice dry spell.
We have a pretty big storm forecast for the Bay Area this weekend, with such high winds predicted that the SF Randonneurs 300K was postponed. I wasn't going to ride it, but Lee & I were going to do check-in at the finish this evening.
So I spent the day stretched out on the couch, reading and drinking tea and napping, and listening to the rain pour down.
Now the trainer is calling me ...

No, nothing for me today. I have had several students out with sore throats and probably some who should have stayed home - since it has now migrated to my throat. Nonetheless, it was a relaxing day, watching the pros ride.
Tomorrow, I really should have a long date with Coach Troy if I can't get outside.

LOL, you know you are in the PNW when a "dry spell" is less than 24 hours. It was beautiful for the afternoon today, but it rained in the night.

Rode from Gasworks park to Alki and back.
Felt wimpy almost the whole way, anticipation for tomorrow's ride; Chilly Hilly. But the good news is the weather..
anyway; with stunning views of the Olympic range and Mt Rainer wearing it's cape (see Susan's 5th photo) and all that blue, it was a glorious day even with my bad attitude.
32 miles, mostly flat. Oh, wait until tomorrow.. (grr)

A 22 mile trip to the LBS to buy a pair of black shorts with *harlot* embroidered on the backside in bright red. http://www.harlotwear.com/habitshort.htm
They were on sale, I've wanted some since last year, and it was HOT (at least 55 degrees, probably 60!) and I didn't want to ride in my canvas pants one mile more. It was so warm I even took off my wool jacket for a while.
The shorts are GREAT on the bike, by the way. And made in the US. Wore them home over a pair of Ibex Balance Runners wool undies. http://www.ibexwear.com/shop/Products_Landing.php?LPID=45
Saw Quillfred on the trail, and told her to get back on TE!

Great scenery Susan.
Did 35 kms....starting off spittin' rain and sun rose gradually, blue and gettin' quite warm.
I shortened ride due to feeling guilty that I still hadn't tackled my art homework which is due tomorrow. But threw in 3 hills in this shortened ride. It was fabulous..then went grocery shopping after spending nearly 1 hr. in art supplies store, drooling over the selection of paints, luscious brushes that I eventually bought with my course discount.
So rode home, laden with big tubes of paint, palette paint paper and food.

Starfish, my saddle is a specialized dolce. I love it! I have one on my road bike and one on my mountain bike!
Mimi . . . good luck and have fun on the Chilly Hilly! I'll be thinking of you! And I like your new avatar too!
Happy Birthday Fredwina!
Kelownagirl, Joe does not like to stop when we ride. He says he gets into his rhythm and when I ask him to stop for a photo it just irks him. But he puts up with me. But I did promise him yesterday that I would cut back on my "STOP I HAVE TO TAKE A PICTURE" and save my picture taking for our stops and breaks.
