Lake Youngs Trail suitable for hybrid?

Have any of you been on the Lake Youngs trail in Renton, WA recently? I know it is a gravel trail but I'm wondering if a mountain bike is needed for it or would a hybrid with not so thick tires/tread still be ok? How compact is the gravel?

I'm planning a ride there tomorrow with a friend and would really prefer to take my Trek FX instead of my 15+ yo mountain bike.
