I woke up to a nice, sunny, pre-spring day and I have thoughts of riding my bike in this gorgeous weather. Then I look at weather.com and our county currently has a flood warning and significant ice accumulation forecasted for Thursday. All we lack is a tornado and we'll be complete. I wish these erratic weather patterns would calm down.

I sure can't fix it for you, but I can be  along with you, in commiseration! Hang in there!

If someone in the midwest wanted to start bicycle commuting, I'd tell them go for it--except in February. Just skip February. I hate February.

Sundial, we spent the weekend in Little Rock. It was horrid weather, but I had to be inside painting my son's house anyway, so I didn't care. Then Monday and Tuesday came along and it was GORGEOUS out. But I still had to be inside. Yesterday I drove home down highway 16 from Atkins to Fayetteville (oh boy is that a curvy road--I couldn't go above 40 because the dogs would puke). It was so lovely, I stopped at a deserted campground and let the dogs run in the woods for a couple of hours while I sat in the sun. (Happy dogs!)

Get up this morning, back in MY life, doing for ME, and the weather is crap again. blah! Ice tonight for us. But I did see the daffodils poking up in the garden, and there are lots of dead skunks on the road! Those are my two signs of spring. :)

Can I give an AMEN?

The news guy says to the weather guy "can I guess that this will be the last really cold blast?"

And the weather guy says "Nope." As long as the storms keep hammering the west coast, the big air flow is tuned for the arctic air to hammer us.

We're expecting the ice and sleet tonight. I'm sick of it too, but I'm riding my mountain bike in it and it works. The worst part is when the wind chills are between 0 and 10, and I can dress warm enough, but getting dressed takes forever.

I think we should just all go to Sandra's house. She's been having 70 degree weather, and she says her guest room is always ready.

Sick of it, too. Ice, ice and more ice. Rain, cold overnight, resulting in black ice. Yesterday, a little bit of snow. Tonight, snow turning to freezing rain. I went to in work during our last ice storm. This time, I think I'll just take the day off.

I could bring my travel trailer if she would just give me a place to plugin and let me use her bathroom.

Snowed about 8 inches night before last (very wet and heavy); snowed 4-5 inches last night; has been snowing all day since. My husband just went home and he says the neighborhood is just buried and it is supposed to snow all night and into tomorrow at least!

Yikes, I know we need the moisture, but I AM DONE WITH THIS! I'm so sick and tired of shoveling the driveway, the sidewalk, the roof, the back deck, the way to the wood shed. Besides, I think I pulled muscle in my shoulder girdle yesterday shoveling so it really hurts to shovel!

PLEASE NO MORE SHOVELING!

we hardly ever shovel here when it snows. We just wait for it to melt. Usually 24 hours.

The W!!! Hubby and I were married when he graduated from MS State. I'm way further south now. I'm an hour and a half north of the Gulf Coast.

I am not from here and I want to get away from here!
Bunch of hicks that can't drive, inconsiderate, go out of there way to run you off the road (that has no shoulder) P.S. If you are from this area and you ride you are not the hick I am speaking of obviously, you know exactly what I mean about these drivers. On top of the terrible drivers. The weather is not friendly this time of year. February is the worst. I want to get out and ride when it is nice but then you still have chance of getting killed.
Last fall, coming up a hill-almost at top, someone wanted to pass me, I put my hand out with a firm stop- which was tough going up hill as is, shoke my head "NO", I put myself into the lane a bit to discourage him--there was a car coming in the other direction that I could see but he could not. He proceeded to try going around me when suddenly he realizes that there was a car coming over on other side of road....EVERY particle of my senses were amplified in my ears, gravel under his tires as he put on his brakes to the actual force inches away from my back tire. I had this happen again a few weeks ago when it was a nice clear day, bundled up and tried to face my fears again. Same thing but not as close call as last... idots.

There was a flock of cedar waxwings in the trees today, and a bunch of robins. The maple trees are looking like they want to bloom, and they hydrangeas have cautiously exposed a new leaf or two. The crocus are blooming and the tulips are 4" out of the ground.

It's still 35 and rainy and too friggin cold for me, but nature says that spring is on the way.

As long as CA gets pounded by those rains, we can expect the erratic weather patterns to continue.  :(

For our enjoyment, today we have sunshine, high of 59, and winds of 30 mph. Then thunderstorms. Then tomorrow snow showers. Then more wind. http://bestsmileys.com/eating1/16.gif

I hear you all on cabin fever! On Sunday Hubby and I had it with the snow and the closed windows! All our snow melted the night before and we grabbed our bikes and packed them up!

We went out the the Falling Water Trails and road 24 miles in 35* temp! We had on gloves, hats, helmets and two pairs of socks!

We should have worn 3, but dang was it refreshing.

I, too am sick of this weather, oh, it just snowed 3-4 inches with possible 2 more tonight.:(
