I just got the following email reminder from Versus:
"You have requested to be reminded of the following shows:
TOUR OF CALIFORNIA: February 18, 2008, 1:00 am - 2:00 am
Please note, all show times are Eastern Time."
Right. I DO want to watch the Tour of California, really I do, but not so much that I'm willing to stay up until 2am on a weeknight to do it. I know some of it has to do with advertising, but what do you think Versus has on primetime that night? Greatest Bull-Riding Falls, or something? World Extreme Cagefighting maybe? Certainly nothing that has tons more advertising cache...
However I did watch Tour of Qatar last night. The coverage wasn't fantastic but it was good to see a little bike racing again.

I agree, liza!
Fortunately, we have the answer here on Moonshine Mtn.: DVR. We are recording every stage (except today) and will use them as training videos this week.
The plan is to pull the trainers into the room with the TV, put the bikes on them and spin while we watch each stage. I may be 2 sizes smaller by Friday!

yes but that's only today - throughout the week it is only on at 11 p.m. ET. That's when we are going to record it. Watching live at 5 today!

Huh. Now why in the world did Versus send me a reminder for the 1am broadcast and not the 5pm broadcast (or, at least include both times)? Duh, Versus.

I'm using mine to record Pride & Prejudice. Sigh.

Our VCR died and we didn't replace it. We live in a location where there is no cable TV and TV signals by old-fashioned antennas is not possible because of the mountains/hollows. Our only choice is satellite. We have DVR service included in our package.

I so agree. Although I am recording it, I honestly believe for one week Bull Riding and Cagefighting could have taken a back burner. I think Versus underestimates how many viewers they have for the Tour.

You could watch it live over the computer. The Amgen site has a live feed and it's been great the last two days. Alas, I can't figure out how to watch and teach.
