We have had a funeral procession in front of our store for over 30 minutes. This is for one of the Kirkwood, MO officers killed Thursday night. I have never seen so many police/fire trucks in one place.

A few years ago 2 local officers were killed here. One of the services was just up the street from my office. They had to close the 4 lane highway for parking. There were police cars from every county in the state, most cities, and many out-of-state departments. Police cars lined up the street, 4 across for as far as the eye could see, quite literally.

My hometown is Farmington, MO so I grew up not far from Kirkwood at all. Quiet little place usually. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard what had happened. RIP to all that were lost.
I stood honor guard at a dozen firefighter/police funerals back when I was still a firefighter, a very moving and humbling experience.

We had one funeral yesterday, two today, and there will be two tomorrow. I'm not sure when the shooter's funeral will be. For the one passing our store today, there were 1300 people in attendance. Someone for our store counted 411 police cars - just police cars. She didn't count the extra vehicles or emergency vehicles.

I am taking a few minutes of silence to honor them! Bowing my head now.........
