I bet she does get fired. It takes a while to fire someone from a government job. Administrative leave is what happens while things are being investigated and resolved. If her employer fired her without due process she would have grounds for legal action. She wouldn't get her job back, but could probably get a settlement of many thousands worth of taxpayer money.

The BTK killer was fired from his government job not because he was arrested, but because he was jailed so had unexcused absences from work. Someone at my workplace was fired not because a corpse was found in his trunk, but because when the police executed the search warrant on his house they found lots of company equipment in his garage.

She has been fired, though.

I remember this because we go walking in that neighborhood and it scared me!

I never heard where the guy worked or any details beyond that. I do know that every time I go walking or running near places that have "abandoned" cars or vans, I think of that case.

While riding home from work on his bike, one of my Seattle U colleagues was mugged late yesterday afternoon by three teenagers in the I-90 tunnel (eastbound). One of them jumped in front of him as he approached, so he slowed down, and then the guy slammed him into the wall. Once he toppled, the other two proceeded to beat and kick him repeatedly while demanding he turn over his wallet. He just told them, over and over, to leave him be and take his bike bag from the back rack. So they did and then ran.
Moments later another cyclist came by so he was able to borrow a cell phone (his was in the bag taken) to call first the cops, and then his wife to cancel his cards and phone, and to get a start on replacing all his locks (all of his keys were in his bag too). What amazed him most was their nerve. They waited for the right moment, when he was the only rider in the tunnel, and then pounced. My friend is OK, sustaining only some bruises, but he knows he got lucky, and they left him with his bike.
Please pass the word for others to beware.

That is so creepy and yet I had to chuckle when I opened the link: The advertising is of a car, showing the trunk. I'm sure Magic Toyota did not have this placement in mind when they bought online advertising "customized" by article contents...:rolleyes:

I often think of that occurring when I have to ride or walk through a tunnel. Luckily, I don't have to do it very often.

10 days??? that is it??? no loss of license?? no medical reimbursement....or compensation to that boy she could have killed??

I can't believe she wouldn't even appolize to the boy....
by looking at her picture...she looks like a total bee-otch!
