There's such a great roll of shoulder issues going, I thought I'd just add to it.

So when I first broke my scapula, and remarked about it being an unusual break, V's husband, Thom sent me an email with a display of his usually dry wit, something about "Wow - look at this, folks! There's something you don't see every day!"

Well, I went to my ortho today. I like him a lot. He's only about 5 years younger than I am, I estimate. I'm really okay with that. Anyway, when someone pulls up your (fresh, new) x-rays on the computer and basically says "Whoa dude, that's messed up!", it really puts things in perspective. He reiterated the fact he was shocked I hadn't broken a bunch of ribs and punctured the lung. And again went into gory detail about how this isn't something they would ever operate on. Like I needed convincing.

The x-ray chick taking those fresh new x-rays was all moving my arm around to get the shots in ways I haven't moved it in 3 weeks - OW!!

Bottom line is I may get PT in 4 weeks. And I tried to fold some laundry and have stabbing pains in my back. At least I have an excuse to delegate the laundry.

Feb can be knee month...I will be starting my PT next week, I am sure I will have lots of juicy stories of torture and pain to add to the mix.

Well, last year, pink was the new black, or so I was told by my 14 years old students...so if pink is the new black, and shoulders get black then CC you can have...wait, I confused myself.....ok start over...pink is the new....aw...drat...

MP - your shoulder injury sounds much more painful than mine! In fact, I just threw in a load of laundry... Now shoveling (not that that's something you would have to do :D), that's another story!

I told DH about your injury, and he had the same reaction as Thom and your ortho - "that's messed up!"

And if you ladies just jinxed my knee for Feb, I don't think I'm going to be a very happy camper ;).

bmcausland has a shoulder injury too.

SheFly

Yeah, and my PT is taking friday off 'cause he's riding in a parade, and all next week he's going to DisneyWorld - without us!! (a lot of N.O. folks leave town during Mardi Gras)

I don't know about the February-knee thing. I'm still in PT for my shoulder. I'll get homework while Tony is out of town, as I really don't want to loose any progress we've made.

SheFlyDuly noted and edited. CC, was I supposed to add you also? I forget exactly what part of the bod you are working on. There are so many injuries going on right now, I can't remember who has what.

I could get a giant doll, make little labeled flags on pins . . . . :D

I would like to oficially opt out of knee problem month. I've been babying my knees for a week and bargaining with them, but I think they got the memo about knee month before I did.

hope all the shoulder injuries are on the way to healing...

Snap's got too many body parts going for just one month. I think we just need to give her the whole second quarter.

And when is back month? I've apparently pulled a muscle in a big way (no doing anything except standing or laying down for long for a while). ARGH!!!!! I wasn't even doing anything interesting when it happened.

my mother will be thrilled to know that she's getting the month of February; even though she broke her patella on the 25th of January.
It's really tough to have a leg that you can't put pressure on or bend when you can't use crutches or a walker.

Worse, when she tells people she broke her patella and they say "the tail bone?"

This week I discovered that more than half of the people I talk to don't know the patella is a knee cap.

So, she'll be thrilled to know that she's in the right place at the right time, starting tomorrow.
