Well, its been a flat out week - up to the mountains for a day, down to the river for swims, trips into town... but every day I have managed to get a ride in of some length.

Yesterday's ride (its actually 7am on the 25th on my piece of dirt here in the southern hemisphere) was super - even though short - only 21kms. My legs felt great and although I had a light tail wind, it is a false flat rising on the way home, and I was sitting comfortably on 33kph all the way til I hit the rollers by the river. Albeit I was on my TT bike so had the advantage of the aero bar set-up, but it felt so good to go that quick so easily.

I really feel like this year I am going to achieve some of my bike goals. (Last year I had 11, attempted 9 and only achieved 2. I have already achieved one this year already :D )

So yesterday was a good day and a good ride. I love the way the river and earth smell after rain (it had rained earlier in the day).

:D

I impressed myself yesterday :p (Thursday) and rode with a friend on Misson Bay in the city for hour 1/2... very beautiful morning but breezy ............ then I met BF for a ride in the evening from home to Clevedon along the coast rode............. again a beautiful evening, slow ride as Tim's not been out much this summer

What I want to know is, there must have been a good 50-60 people out cycling in Misson Bay in the morning ..... dont' these people work ?!?!?!!?! and if they do I want their jobs !!! :D :D Thre's is something very wrong about sitting in a office on a beautiful morning knowing that there are lots of people out there cycling without me !

Hey there Millie
I know what you mean about people out biking during work hours! I know I will be so envious when I get back to work on the 4th Feb and look out the windows to see cyclists whipping by.

I know exactly where you were at Mission Bay. I worked at Kelly Tarltons the year it opened - helping to sort it all before opening day, and then on various duties after it opened. :)

I hung out in that area quite a lot - there was a great little deli in Kohimarama which had the best French sticks and fresh carved ham *drools*

well, unlike the Gals "down under", it was cold :( , and wet :(:(. and dark:(:(:(.
Got up early and rode on the rail trail. I used to be the only personout, but I am seeing some runners. about halfway through, it started to rain. had to make a detour around a massive puddle.
The good news: a lot of times, I run across a juvenile coyote. it usally runs at my lights, but was nowhere to be seen today (should I change my name to Dances with wolves?;) )

At least you managed to get a few weeks cycling before school starts again...:)

Fredwina - not long before it's starts to get lighter, warmer & drier for you northern girls :) i guess at least RR & I don't get snow so we can cycle all year round although it'll be dark, cold & wet soon too...........

I remember cycling around Mission Bay & wasn't too fond of the traffic.. The cafes in the area are mmmmm..

Fredwina- You do a gazillion km's a year, c'mon toughen up :p
I cycle at least 6 months of the year to work in the dark! Add some rain in there too..

I did a nice trainer ride this morning
