I think (fingers crossed) that out of state people are guaranteed entry. I bid for my shift on monday, am trying for a fri-sun off this bid. I think I'll wait until I know for sure....I really want to do this ride but I should be able to wait until monday.
It's a fairly easy course, right? The metric, that is. I haven't been riding so much so much but I've been running and I CAN ride before that.

Yes, Teigyr- you are right. "Mr Cinderella" (AKA Jim Duncan) says that anyone from out of state gets in. If I were you, I'd send him an email telling him your dilemma and ask if you can still get in next week. (I'm sure he'll be accommodating).

Teigyr, I'm leaving the office today to go SHOPPING with my carpenter for lighting fixtures. Whoopeee  I'm away from any fax machine.
You do have the form, right? Still have to get that in. :p Can't show up and "I'm from out of state" ;) :p If anyone needs a form right now I'm sure the wonderful women of TE will help (also there will be last minute trading I'm sure).
It's a fairly easy metric .... unless it rains, and pours, and there's headwind at every turn, some hail and ....

Bike Momma- Sarah and I are planning to do the "Challenge". We'll probably check the route out when the weather gets a little warmer (?) and at least a bit drier.
I rode with the guy who designed this part of the ride last year. It doesn't sound like it is that tough. Patterson Pass from the west side is (I think) easier than from the east. (Veronica knows that for sure!)
We're planning to leave pretty early to get in front of the slower riders. Sarah is a strong rider- she'll beat me up the hills- you'd be a good companion for her! ;););)

The Challenge is tentative for me, as well. Depends on about three different things: 1) if I'm crazy enough to enter the Santa Cruz crit the next day; 2) the weather (remembering '06 clearly); and 3) what condition my back is in (I hurt it a year ago...still recovering).
Either way, sounds like a nice ride, so I signed up for the 100....I can always switch to the metric on the day of.
Bleary-eyed remembering how early your "early" is...:p It would be nice to ride with someone, though.

I didn't see anywhere on the reg form about signing up for the 100. Oh well, I'll just email Mr. Cinderella and plead my case. :(:(:( I'm sure they won't mind if another 2 folks show up.
I'll do a course preview and let you know. However, 96 miles might be a bit much if you're racing the next day. BTW have you met Laurie Fenech? She's in our bike club and is evidently a state champ. (I believe she's a CAT 3)
She's about 5ft tall and nothing but muscle. Teaches school in Vacaville area I believe.

You know, I can't remember for sure if there actually was an option to check. I was filling it out as I was trying also to watch my son's basketball game, so that I could mail it off that night. Me <-- airhead! :p:cool:
Yea, I've raced against Laurie, smiled at her, watched her kick my a** (ha!), replied back to her on the NCNCA forums, but have never actually formally met her. Seems nice, though. I have alot of respect for her. So strong.

I've got the directions for the challenge part of the Cindy ride. The Valley Spokesmen are planning to it on Feb 18th. Check out their website: www.valleyspokesmen.org and look on the ride calendar for more details.
If some of us decide to do it on our own, I'll also post our plans here.:)
