Yeah, baby!!!
Give me the couch.
Give me the fire.
Give me the hubby.
Give me the remote. Well, okay, I'll give on that one :D

Today should be fun. Don't know if I can handle 8 hours of putting the pig in the pen, might have to do some of it on the trainer!

Who's your picks?

It is the playoffs to determine who goes to the Superbowl today.

AFC
San Diego at New England
3 pm EDT
and

NFC
NY Giants at Green Bay
6:30 pm EDT

That's what I'm talking about baby!

Ah, that's how it goes on for 8 hrs. I thought maybe today was the Superbowl... and 8 hrs would be a *very* long game! :D

I didn't even now the season was over...so of course I do not know, who is playing until now. Guess that should keep plenty of people off the road so maybe I should brave the cold and go out for a ride:rolleyes:

My mom's visiting from Maine, where she's become a die hard Patriots fan. DH (and DD) has been and always will be a die hard Chargers fan. I'm hosting a 70th birthday football party for my mom today with all my in laws. This should be interesting.

I'm new to the US. But I loved watching Canadian Football. Slightly different game but gives me the background I need to understand NFL.

So back home my Alma Mata and favorite CLF team both wore Green and Gold. So I automatically started cheering for the Packers when watching here in the US (Much to DH and the Neighbor's embarassment).

It's very nostalgic for me to watch Green Bay. 1 deg F, snow on the field, uniform colours..... It's just like Edmonton. :D:D

And it reminds me of why I live here now. Did I mention that I rode my bike outside yesterday.:)

GO PACK!

That is all I have to say :D

I like Brett Farve (sp?) He always seems to be having a good time on the field. He seems like a good guy, flying aid to the Katrina Survivors at his own expense he did more than the P'resident did (ahem, not to politicize football) etc. I've never read anything bad about him such as gossip, dog fight rings, domestic violence and besides ... isn't he the oldest NFL QB? It's inspiring to see him scamper around the field and then on the sideline take off his helmet and see grey hair.

I'd like to see him get another shot at the title. I don't think anyone can beat New England 'cept maybe age and stealth before youth and beauty

Thanks Knot.

I use to like New England till all this video taping - so called cheating. It would be nice to have different teams, then the same ones. I hope SD beats them, but don't think they will - I bet they wished they were playing in SD. I like the Packers - I think they'll win - the Giants - Manning isn't consistent.

I guess its NCAA Women's Basketball now.

Just my 2 cents

8 hours? try All Day!

i'm on the couch with the tv on and the laptop on my lap watching all the pregame hoopla. later i'll transfer to the trainer and watch from there for about an hour.

i had lost interest in football after John Elway retired, but regained it when i saw Randy Moss play in Minnesota. the man is an incredible athlete.

so i'll be on the bandwagon for Randy and the Pats.

the super bowl is in PHX, on the west side (denise's neighborhood) but the biggest news for me is Lance Armstrong will be at one of the celeb parties here in Scottsdale.

D@mn the remodel and the mess. I've got one of my bikes set up in the living room to get a little work out in. Haven't done this in a while, feels good. San Diego needs to calm down and quit throwing the ball away.

Can someone please tell me at what temperature human flesh begins to freeze?

How in the devil are those guys out there bare-armed playing football with the temperature what it is at Lambeau Field???? Do they not get frostbite?

I know, the sidelines are heated and they have handwarmers in their pockets and toewarmers, but how do they not get frostbite?

That the weather is nice and warm on Super Bowl Sunday so I can ride and ignore all the hype.

I enjoy football but.....I'd rather watch real football (a.k.a. soccer). At least those athletes play without a break for 45 minutes a half, instead of run play/time out/grunt/run play/smash/time out/commercial break/line up/commercial break/grunt........
Of course, I would not be such a sour-grapes if the Seahawks had beaten Green Bay, OR if Tiki was still playing for the Giants...

Knotted, the Giants took it.
I can't believe that the Giants took it!! SAD!!! He kicks it when it counts.

And yes, the bikini girls must have been drunk out of their minds.

I rode the trainer for a very short time during the 1st game - 30 minutes or so - I HATE THE TRAINER. I would rather peel scabs off of my eyeballs. There, I feel better now that I have said that. I will get on the stupid thing again, I just know it.

Yahoo! The Giants won. Little Eli is going to the Superbowl just like his big brother, Peyton. I know there are some other Ole Miss grads here that were happy to see that. I like Brett, too--another Mississippi boy. But Eli went to Ole Miss--like his father. I will really date myself now. I was at Ole Miss when Archie was. Olivia lived next door to me my freshman year. Or maybe I should say I lived next door to her!

We'll be on the last day of our trip to VT. I do not like football. I was praying the Patriots lost so I didn't have to hear any more about the them on the news. I don't care where Tom Brady is going to buy a house... I don't care if they win, either.
We always go out to eat at restaurants where it is hard to get in on days when there is a football play off, etc.
Now, the Red Sox are a different story. But, even though I like baseball, I don't sit and watch it, unless I am at home, with nothing else to do. It's not like, "come on over and we'll watch the game."

Super Bowl Sunday = GREAT day to go out for dinner! We have one kid with autism and one kid with food allergies, so restaurants are normally more trouble than they're worth. On Super Bowl Sunday they are deserted and no one minds if one kid hangs out under another table the whole time and the chef has plenty of time to answer questions about ingredients in food.

I have no idea which teams are even playing this year (not the Ravens - I know that much)--I'm justl looking forward to a relaxing night out!

I love football. The precision, almost poetry.

I like Peyton Manning, his fields smarts, but I feel for the Saints.

I'm gonna miss Kurt Warner, he is a great man, ESPN guys said the game of football is better because he played. The Cards playing in the Super Bowl was sooooooooooo exciting.

I'll definitely watch the game, but I think the Colts are going to eat up the Saints -- we'll see if heart and desire (Saints) can overcome precision and skill (Colts).

The city went absolutely WILD last night. :D:cool::D Fireworks, people honking horns. Drove by a fire house on my way home, the engines were out, lights flashing, the guys waving at the cars, cars honking horns in return. It was happily insane. Almost every intersection where I had to stop, people were tooting their horns - and we generally don't honk horns around here. The Saints practice facility is near my neighborhood, and it was darkened last night. But I'm certain, the markee will change today.

By the time I got to my neighborhood (45 minutes post game) it was calmed down.

Next scheduled party is the Saints Parade on Tuesday. There'll probably be Saints themed throws from the Carnival floats for the remainder of the season. Things will finally calm down on Ash Wednesday.

The city really needed this. Sorry to Indianapolis, but we really needed this. Bless you Boys.:D
