My daughter is interested in cycling and I am trying to find information about women's collegiate cycling. (i.e., university teams) I am having great difficulty finding any information. I would like for her to find a team to follow, support, etc. and I would like for her to find some good (cycling) role models. Please help!

Type "Fort Collins" in to the search and it'll turn up a thread about 1 of the collegiate teams I"ve seen posted here. Also, Michigan State has a cycling team that one of the ppl here belongs to. But darn if I can remember her name right now. Is your daughter in college?....looking for colleges with cycling teams? You can also try your local cycling website whatever that may be ie: for me its NMCycling.org. They would list any college cyling teams in your area.
As for supporters - no better bunch than the ladies right here at TE. It's where I go for all my cycling needs!
and Welcome to the board!

You might start with USA Cycling and click on the collegiate link. Are you near any colleges? It's amazing how many have a road and/or mtb team even at a grassroots level.

Local community bike clubs may also sponsor a team that has college riders on it as well as youth. How old is she? She might be able to hang with some of them, volunteer for events, etc. There are even some amateur/pro teams like Velo Bella she might want to follow (jerseys available on our sponsor's site ;) )

I just cruised around the site enough to figure out that you weren't joking! Nice interview!
I've shared this site with a friend who grew up in Wisconsin and has now decided that she's going to ask her parents for the club membership (with jersey) for her birthday. I'd say you're a good recruiter also.

I am grateful for the very very kind words ... they really are an awesome group of women and wonderful role models for women of all ages but especially for the young girls.
My husband and I are looking forward to the group ride this coming spring.
The jersey's are awesome and I agree ... the bikes are way cool. I don't know if it is on the web site or not but Rebecca Anderson's ride is named the 'Dairy Queen'.
Trek offers the same 'holstein' scheme on its Project One bike.
