Sacramento Saturday, March 15, 2008 - Sunday, March 16, 2008

Raleighdon and I are coming to California in march.

Several people you know will be there, including Fredwina and the famous Pansy Palmetto. It's a big thread on Bike Journal, but I just wanted you guys to know that I'd love to see you there as well. There will be rides for folks at different levels. Raleighdon, for example, will be doing at least 1 century, and I won't... More details later; but consider putting that weekend on your calendar if you can be there!

Mimi, have you got a web link for that?

I tried to google it and it wasn't onthe first page so I kinda gave up. I guess I should keep looking though. But maybe you could make my life a little easier? Hmmmmmm?

Here's the link to the thread on the bike journal forum - hope it works:

http://www.bikejournal.com/thread.asp?ThreadID={621E3322-674F-4178-B0FA-A5EDC778F215}

If the link doesn't work, the thread is entitled "The Ride Of The Mad March Hair" - natch.

This might be a possibility for me. I'll see how the winter riding goes. It would be fun to meet new friends. Kinda like a BJ/TE Western reunion!:):):)

For those that wanna know more details before they sign up (and so I'll know how many maps to make):

RED RABBITS Century Loop (Kinda like Foxy's Fall Century in reverse but not quite and mo' bettah)
Start in Davis
ride 20 flat miles to intersection of 128 and Pleasants Valley Rd
go up to Lake Berryessa
descend south to Fairfield
ride north to Vacaville to detour over Gibson Canyon and Cantelow Rds
continue north on Pleasants Valley Rd
go east around the south side of Lake Solano into Winters
another flat (but different 20 miles) back through UCD campus into Davis.

BUNNY HOPPERS Metric and Amtrak back
Ride with the Century group to Fairfield (or we can start later) but finish up at the Amtrak station for a train ride back to Davis

ROUGE à LEVRES Flat 40 and Amtrak back
Ride with the century group (or start later) to intersection of 128 and Pleasants Valley Rd.
Turn south to ride down Pleasants Valley Rd to Fairfield
Go to Amtrak station to return back to Davis.

Please post your choice of course over on the bikejournal thread and sign up for the ride under the ride section.

Thanks,
The Map and Photocopy Person

Wahine - are you considering it?

How did rabbits get to be red? Did I miss something?

Re the century loop- the road has been resurfaced from the top of the grade coming from Mankewitz Corner all the way down past Gordon Valley cutoff. It's such fun to ride it now. We often go up to the junction and then come down just for the great descent!

IMHO- cardiac hill and Cantelew would be the most challenging. But, the ride should be beautiful at this time of the year, and the traffic should be minimal (as in those swinging boat trailers and motorcycles that coming zooming by:(:(:(:().

Bike Goddess, you have to go on to the Bikejournal.com forum. and read all this stuff. Both Raleighdon (the ride originator) and PansyPalmetto are into red big time. That's what it's about. sort of.

BG, Mankewitz? Cantelew?

Mantras to repeat --

First mantra -- Moskowite and Mankas. Moskowite and Mankas.

Second - Cantelow. First we ride high, then we ride LOW.

I swear, one of these days someone is going to get lost out there trying to find the names you use. :D:rolleyes::D
