During the winter I get these two very dry patches on my head. Above both my temples. I don't want to use a dandruff shampoo cause I hate them. Seems so harsh. I used some olive oil after I shampooed. Rubbed it in then rinsed. This is olive oil pressed by a friend who is planning on selling it. But is that a good way to deal with dry dry flakey skin. The dermatologist just wants me to use the harsh shampoo. I want a natural way to try and help it. Any suggestions?

DH is very dandruff prone, and he'd been using all kinds of nasty shampoos, but when I brought home some Kiss My Face green tea & lime Whenever shampoo, his scalp cleared up completely. It's paraben-free and SLS-free. It is rather harsh if you're used to conditioning-type shampoos.

Thank you! I like Kiss my face stuff. I have really wavy hair so i have to use a conditioner. But I only want this as a twice a week treatment or once a week. I only wash my hair teice a week.

I don't know if this might help, but some people think dry skin patches can be related to vitamin deficiencies, particularly the B complex vitamins. Couldn't hurt to try some and see if it helps.

I have to wash my hair --daily. It becomes important especially during seasons of near daily cycling. If I skip 1 day or more, my scalp gets itchy...and every tiny itch while cycling is damn annoying.
I did have a minor dandruff problem...ended up using prescribed shampoo.
Black hair shows up ..alot of stuff if one doesn't take care of scalp, etc.

I seem to lack vitamin E in my diet (which foods have it?? Maybe taking the olive oil instead of applying it would work?), so when I don't take 200 iu of vitamin e about daily, I end up with the same problem. I also take Vitamin B supplements. I'm trying to figure out how to get these in the food I eat (or need to eat, as the case may be), but I don't know yet.

hmmm never considered it might be a vitamine thing. I get a lot from my food but I am not getting enough. I will look into it!
