View Full Version : Anyone ever noticed the benefits of waxing?

I've noticed that having a Brazilian bikini wax seems to eliviate any saddle soreness for me...either with spinning or outside rides...

Although my boyfriend talked me into getting one for his own selfish desires...I've maintained it because I feel so much better in the saddle!

Am I just imagining that it helps?

Hey, TD! I have to say I don't know if it makes it better or not....I've been brazilianing for longer than I've been riding hard!!

I do know that same day and sometimes next day riding, especially in the heat, is not very pleasant, but it's great after that!

and, yes, it started with the husband's wish....but it makes me feel sexy, too!

:p

Your posts make me happy happy HAPPY to be blissfully single.

While I can be happy for you (if you are happy) my little inner voice just cringes with the idea of doing something, ANYthing solely to please another human being.

I'm trimmed/shaved (for personal--riding/swiming/aesthetic-- reasons) but most recent bf once commented "you don't need to do that for ME"....well erm thank-you but I do it for ME!

Some of just aren't the marry-ing type I suppose.

Is that kind of like road vs. mtb? Or Campy vs. Shimano???

In actuality, my boyfriend is my fiancee, I just hate using that word...it's so silly...so he is the marrying type and the type worth waxing for...and I tend to oblige my boyfriend because he is so lovely...

I see nothing wrong with trying something new to please a loving, caring, extremely sexy partner...as long I as I feel good about trying it out...

And men are so funny...simply removing a little hair from your own body is like a day at Disneyland for them!

Well, put Twice! A day at Disneyland.....hahahahaha

congratulations on nabbing a good one! My man and I found each other in 1983 and were married in 1988. It's so cool that we've both evolved into fast mountain bikers together!! And all that other sweet romantic sexy stuff we do, too....

yes, that's really funny ( and true) I think when you find the right person... sometimes you can do things to make them happy and then you feel happy that they are so happy and it grows from there. It gets to the point where it doesn't really matter who started it for what reasons.

It reminds me of something I once heard about having kids, and a concern that it would take away lovefrom the couple in the family. The response was that it was like lighting another candle when you had two already lit... you just get more light.

Sniff - aw, that's beautiful.
Fiance and I have been talking about starting a family. We've been together 8 years so it's been a long time with just 2 of us and it's scary to think life would change so much, especially riding together - unless we get a trailer. It's great to hear reassuring things like this. :)

Anyway - shaving etc. BF did his legs last night for the first time since Christmas and boy, did those silky shins feel good. :p

Oh well, at least one of us in this relationship has lovely smooth legs. :D

I'm with you on this one. I cannot imagine someone ripping my pubic hair out every 2-4 weeks. OUCH!! Plus as far as experimentation goes, I've only gone the other way. No shaving anything for about 1 year. I found guys swarming around me like crazy. Including my now husband. Of course that was long long ago in my single days. Once I shaved my legs and pits, my husband then said - "yeah I like that". But he never asked me to do it.

Kids will alter your life in every way. Including ways you can't imagine. But that's OK if you are flexible and ready to dive in. It's just another part of life. Plus I do believe in the light another candle and get more light (more love) philosophy. My 2 girls add love to our house. They never subtract anything (except those few screaming/crying moments... :).

Finally, I would think - although clearly others have experienced the opposite- that shaving or waxing would result in ingrown hairs and increased discomfort on the saddle. But not only is everyone different in opinion, I believe everyone is slightly different physically too. Response to pain, injury, healing time, etc. So what's good for one may be bad for another and there is probably no absolute anything.
