So, after years of not really cycling, just sort of putzing around on old raleighs and a steel cruiser, I bought, last spring, an old 1992 Giant carbon (and back in 92, carbon was not the same as now...). It was a good introduction to a road style frame, although, it's really more of a touring bike and could, according to my lbs, be a good cross bike. Since I am sort of interested in cross, I thought I would hang on to this baby.

Then, I got a Jamis to use as a commuter. The jamis is kind of big for me but I have been dutifully using it to commute between 5-10 miles once a week throughout winter.

Well, today, I went to the lbs with the dude, cuz he had to bring his bike in for tuning (and as it is a c. 1989 Colnago, beautifully maintained, they sort of shrugged and said, "what needs tuning?") and I bought half of a *new* bike. Not a craigs list bike. Not a hand me down. A bike just for me, fitted to me. A SPECIALIZED DOLCE! Okay, so maybe I am being more frugal than I needed to be... maybe I should have gone up a notch, but I figure, this is enough. For now. It's really way better than anything I've ridden this far.

I am really happy.
Even though I probably won't ride this til we get clearer roads.

Also, I am intending now to commute with the Giant, I think, and sell the Jamis. The Jamis was a craigslist buy and I feel like it is too big for me.

So now I have four bikes (I still have that GT steel mountain bike) which is excessive, isn't it? Gawd.

Here's the new bike. Not my photo, but the same exact bike.

Hey Lynn, wanna go for a ride? :D

Note the lovely shade of booberry blue.
White handlebar tape though. Oy vey.

I can't wait to ride it! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

The answer to this question is no.

Congratulations on the new bike.

I feel like it is excessive. To go from blowing the dust off the GT last March to four bikes, one brand new, is kinda weird. I'm a pretty frugal gal, mostly.

I love it though!

She's gorgeous!!!! Heck, yeah, I'll go for a ride (but I'm never going to be able to keep up with you)! Congratualtions!!!

Haven't been on a bike since November, but we're almost done moving, so I'm ready to get back in the saddle. Can't wait to get out there again.

I asked if they could put orange bar tape on it to match my farm colors, but they didn't have any.

I give the white bar tape a month before I rip it off. LOL.

Ooooooooh!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! :)

You'll look so smart and sexy on your new ride. Congratulations on your new sweet ride.

Soft scrub keeps the handlebar tape clean.

The Jamis is a Jamis Boca. I would say about 10 years old. I bought it on Craigs list.

Soooo beautiful. Congrats on the lovely new bike. I drooled over one of those at an LBS. And blue and orange is one of my favorite color combos, it just looks fast to me. Enjoy!
